I cannot fault the skiing at Heavenly except to say there is a little too much walking at the top of the gondola which is not great for skiers or boarders. A minor niggle! Mountain restaurants were good especially the Tamarack Lodge. The skiable area is huge but do explore the other resorts around the lake if you have time.... More

On your way up the Gondola at Heavenly, be sure to get off at the observation deck! You will think you are on top of the world! The sight of the azure Lake Tahoe surrounded by the Sierra mountains is truly breathtaking. I would even venture to say it's a great place for a proposal! Get back on the Gondola... More

We have a family trip (usually 6-10 from ages 4-68) every year to South Lake Tahoe which always includes stays at Harrah's/Harvey's Lake Tahoe Casinos and skiing on Heavenly Mountain which has trails that go from the Nevada side of the mountain in Stateline, NV to the California side (which has all the casinos at the bottom of the Gondola... Skied the last week of March and was afraid it would be slushy snow, but we lucked out with great spring skiing. We were fogged in to start with but when the clouds lifted and we turned around at the top, it was just beautiful to see the lake. The food in the lodges were expensive, but good eating. Especially... More

I snowboarded there on a Thursday and Friday in April and it was pretty empty both days--no lines for the lifts and lots of room on the trails! Maybe because it was the end of the season? It was supposed to be their last week, although they later announced that they'd be open two weekends following their original last day... More

This is a perfect place for visitors, start up skiiers and tubing fans...Very nice gondola ride (little expensive) but worth it for the views...Do get off the observation deck and amaze yourself. More

Most of the obvious stuff has been written, so I thought that I would expand this a little - we did 4 resorts in 4 days at Tahoe - here are our thoughts on each: Heavenly Biggest resort, with most varied skiing Downside - expensive, especially for kids! No local deals on lift tickets Recommendations - book in advance online... More

Heavenly has really improved in the last couple of decades. Kudos to those with the vision to turn a frumpy ski resort and tattered town into a luxury experience. More

First and formost, not at work and skiing over Lake Tahoe has never gotten old! Heavenly definately is a tall big mountain and has just about anything for anybody. They make up grades on various things every year, so just keeps getting better and better as the years pass. Do definately agree with other reviews as to having to alot... More

Heavenly towers over Lake Tahoe, as everyone knows. Its views from above are spectacular. On certain parts of the mountain you can even see the lake on your left and the arid Nevada valleys on your right. On some trails, as you go down, you are compelled to stop and admire the sun as it shines over the lake. For... More
