We visited D.L. Bliss State Park about 7 years ago and found the interpretive trail at Balancing Rock to be fun and informative. Well, no more. That area of the State Park is now in ruins. It looks like it has not been maintained for a few years. A real disaapointment. However, the Rubicon Trail and Loop continues to be... more

We camped here for 2 nights during the last weekend of May, 2009. DL Bliss has 3 campgrounds, "Pines," "Ridge," and "Beach." Pines is located right next to the ranger check-in station, which is located about a mile from the beach. Ridge is located about halfway between Pines and the beach. The Beach campground is located very close to the... more

The campground was beautiful, but in early Sept. we had a group of 15 college kids reserve one site to have inexpensive beer parties unitl 1:00am with language I cannot repeat here. We had to notify the staff twice before the finally kicked them out, but our trip and mood had been ruined by then. Unleas you track them down,... more

The park itself is very nice, with a great beach and nice trails. The average rating is because of the site we got. We were excited because we had secured a reservation for one of the so-called "coveted" beach sites. Unfortunately, there is no privacy at site #159. It is wide open with little shade and no separation from #157... more

We are from Oregon and, despite the great campgrounds in our state, have been coming to D.L. Bliss for five years. The campsites are, with few exceptions, beautiful. The upper campgrounds are roomier and nicer than the beach sites, and you are much less likely to be near a noisy group, who are few and far between to begin with.... more

We arrived at D.L. Bliss last weekend hoping to experience this incredible site. What greeted us was a most difficult person ruling the toll booth of entry. Although she (Sarah) must be very tired of turning people away who are hoping to use this wonderful beach and campground, her attitude was beyond belief! Half of our family (including our children)... more

This is a beautiful campground on Lake Tahoe. We enjoyed the beach and the sites were large and private. We camped in late August and it seemed that several large families booked campsites near one another. They often yelled from site to site, which shattered the otherwise peaceful calm of the setting. I wished the park ranger or camp host... more

Do not go here until they fully replace the bear boxes with an updated design. Bears have been breaking into the boxes and stealing everyone's food. I know because they did it to me. Also, they have broken into cars where people left food. At a minimum, take some strong wire with you and wire the box shut as a... more

Great campsites - many with a touch of privacy. Hot showers, pristine beach, gorgeous views, all with the crackle of a bugless night campfire. Some sites can be quite a walk down to the beach, but there is parking down there for those so inclined. Our site was the in 'middle' grouping (based on distance to the beach) and was about... more
