So glad I booked the "tour" (as opposed to doing the self-guided version)! I recently visited with my 9 yr old and 13 year old. All of us loved this experience. The first hour was spent walking to the river and learning about the Huskies. Jeff, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. The huskies were a pleasure to be around... More

This place is amazing. So down to earth. The dogs all have such great names and they are all so friendly. The staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is so welcoming. They let the dogs out to run every half hour or so and they all run around and bark and play with eachother. We got to see an eagle... More

I really needed a trip to unwind and clear my mind. I wasn't sure if I would get an annoying auditory battering of incessant barking, but instead and on the contrary, waking up in a beautiful wooden lodge to the sound of 125 musical pooches howling/singing together as my 7.30 alarm clock was uplifting and joyful. I quickly knew I... More

Frank Turner (the owner) is a unique individual. He came to the Yukon from Toronto as a young man. He came love life in this austere yet gorgeous place. He won the the Yukon Quest a more demanding and authentic "Iditarod type" of mushers' endurance race from Fairbanks, AK to White Horse YT. We were there with a US Air... More

My husband, my daughter, and I stayed at Muktuk May 6, 2014. We made reservations to stay at Muktuk B&B due to the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor. I felt compelled to leave one for myself. My husband is active duty in the USAF, and we were on the road, moving from Florida-Alaska. The day before arrival, I wanted to call... More

Our visit at Muktuk Adventures was in Spring 2006. Although it is a while ago, I still have strong memories from our visits. Beside the very interesting tour with a lo of details about mushing, I liked the dog feeding and most the family dinner in Turner’s family room, together with a Russian couple with their 8 year old child.... Dog sleding was something I've wanted to do for a long time, and was definetly not disapointed. I will recomend this experience, but with certain cautions: Be sure when you book, either half a day or full day to ask how the day will be distributed, meaning how much time you actually are in the sled?how much time you will... We went dog sledding on the frozen Takhini River. What a blast. This was the highlight of our Yukon trip. The dogs were keen, the snow was fresh and we were just a little uncertain. We didn't need to be. It was quite easy and the dogs know where they are going. You just have to slow them down from... More

My wife and I booked this at the hotel. We were told our driver would arrive at 4;00pm. Well, she showed up at 4:20 and a couple of us started razzing her about her timing. That's when we learned about the "ish" in Canada. She told it was about 4 ish. We had a blast with her, both going and... More

The most amazing experience ever! Did a 1/2 day trip (3 hours) and had a total blast! loved the friendly dogs and the people at Muktuk. Our guide jeff was a genuinely nice, caring and efficient guide. Because we went in september when the temperature is not as low the dogs tire (they love to run in -20s and -30s)... More
