I have been to the Mendel many times over the years. They staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The exhibits rotated frequently and right now, children's school art is being showed which is a very nice gesture from the art gallery to students. It is unfortunately closing very soon and it will be missed.

Nice little gallery which unfortunately is about to close. There is a new gallery under construction in Saskatoon but it is nowhere near opening so it is not clear why the Mendel is closing now.

I LOVE the Mendel! It's been quite a while since I've been there, but it's still great! They do workshops on Sundays which are great to take kids to, and they are free of charge (which makes it even better). Admission is always free, and Sundays at 1 they offer a free tour of the exhibitions they have at the... More

I've being going to the Mendel Art Gallery since I was a teenager and think it's one of the best kept secrets in Saskatoon. It is small, intimate an unpretentious, with an excellent permanent collection and shows that I always find interesting. The conservatory is a welcome break from winter but a lovely place to visit in all seasons. The... More

Small unfinished gallery. Overpriced gift shop. Not that impressed. One thing is the green space inside but it had lovers in there so we felt uncomfortable with it. Sorry, but we would not visit again. Too bad because we had read good thongs about it...

The Mendel as it's called in Saskatoon was one of the few buildings constructed right on the river bank and has been a jewel for over fifty years. There are no entrance fees but donations are accepted. There's plenty of free parking and a lovely cafe has been added with some of the best views in Saskatoon. The Mendel is... More

My friend and I went for a walk along the Meewasin Trail and ended up here. We had a good time checking out the gift shop which has an awesome mix of local art stuff, handmade pottery, cards of all types, great arty stuff for kids, jewelry, puzzles, scarves, etc. There are also a variety of price points for said... I love visiting the gallery no matter the exhibit. You can take your time and the art is very well presented. Small venue but well worth the trip.

I am always drawn to museums, particularly art museums, when visiting an unfamiliar place. It's a nice weekend respite from a hotel room, rental car and remote office. I was impressed by the late operating hours and free admission to the Mendel. The conservatory features a variety of exotic flora, viewable from a square walking path. However, the permanent artwork... More
