Saskatoon winters are long! Especially this one (2013). The Art gallery is a great place to go, specifically the conservatory. Escape to the lush green "forest" and sit on a bench, breath deeply and take in the beauty of the plants and flowers. A great place to meditate. The gallery exhibits will always offer something interesting to see. Wireless internet... More

If you are not familiar with art galleries in general. This is the place to go, to get to know if you might like it. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere with outstanding quality. Easy parking and lots to see for big and small, young and old. Kids are welcome and it is small enough that anybody that might have difficulty with... More

I was hesitant going to the art gallery with three kids under 12 in tow, but we felt welcomed there. The displays were incredible and the kids really were interested (as were we). Likely to make this an annual visit, as the displays change and we are anxious to see what will be happening there next.

This free (entry by donation, if desired) art gallery is one of the best I have seen. Beautiful location overlooking the river with lots of parking. Relaxing conservatory, excellent programs, lovely gift shop and tasty coffee shop.

Although the facilities are not huge, it makes for a very interesting visit. The various galleries constantly change. When we visited, one gallery was student art. It is truly amazing how much talent the students have.

the galleries are always interesting and the conservatory is amazing in the winter - orchids, daffodils and tulips. (it is small though)

The Mendel is free, and it has a nice gift shop. It's got rotating exhibits so from visit to visit, you never know what will be featured. The space isn't huge, so usually in about an hour, you can see the exhibit comfortably. Another plus: its coffeeshop serves good soup and sandwiches in addition to pastries. All in all, the... More

Waste of space ! My husband said , they should open this place up for the homeless in the winter. Very little art work and a lot of empty space. The enclosed garden with fountain and pond though was very nicely done and the plants very healthy and well arranged. The gift shop also had several interesting articles, coffee shop... More

i love this gallery. it had just enough to enjoy an afternoon of art appreciation without becoming visually over-stimulated. i felt the shows were very thoughtfully curated and the shows appealed to a range of interest - historical & emerging, local & national artists - showcasing a variety of media. the highlights were the small show "The Mendel Gift" and...
