I walked to the gallery one evening along the trail by the river. I enjoyed browsing in the gift shop and purchased some local products for my family. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, inviting me to the open house of local art that evening. I was pressed for time so I walked through the gallery and was impressed... More

Nice small gallery with changing exhibitions throughout the year. Worth a visit. Nice tropical greenhouse attached. Best espresso and cappuccinos in Saskatoon.

Museum is an easy walk along the river from the Park Town Hotel. An interesting exhibition and very well stocked gift shop with unusual items.

The exhibitions are always lovely. This visit didn't disappoint. I just love the quite stroll through the gallery. I also love the information they provide so that you get the most out of the art. We enjoyed a walk through the garden. Lovely!!!

The gallary is fairly small in size, with a handful of walkthrough rooms and various exhibitions. While i was there, a selection from canadas foremost painters was on display, along with a few modern pieces. The only vaguely interesting piece for me was a video display lasting 5 minutes of a portrait scene with the actors half heartedly trying to... More

This gallery was quite unique. They had an exhibit that you could climb up in that was created by an insane woman. The walls and steps symbolized her journey. Kinda' weird, but I liked it. They also had large monitors of people sitting very still. At first it looked like a photo, then all of a sudden someone moved a... More

Winter, spring, summer, autumn-every season is a great time to visit this special green place. The regular plants and trees are wonderful. They range from a tropical banana tree to a Chinese pine to desert cacti to Norfolk pine to stag horn fern to orchids to coleus and on and on................... The seasonal plants are changed regularly and add texture,... More

This is a small, free municipal gallery in a great location on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River. There's free parking onsite, or it's a nice riverside walk from downtown. The Mendel always seems to have interesting, well curated special exhibitions, such as the one at the moment on Emily Carr and her circle, though the gallery space is... More

Very, very small gallery. Exhibit called Road Trip was FABULOUS! Nice setting, on the river edge. Great gift shop, worth exploring.

The Mendel is perfect for art lovers. It's compact and the David Thauberger exhibit was well put together. My friend and I enjoyed the room with art by local school age children. It's wonderful to see a gallery that is so connected with youth in the community. Don't miss the civic conservatory. The lush smell of plants and the array... More
