Winter, spring, summer, autumn-every season is a great time to visit this special green place. The regular plants and trees are wonderful. They range from a tropical banana tree to a Chinese pine to desert cacti to Norfolk pine to stag horn fern to orchids to coleus and on and on................... The seasonal plants are changed regularly and add texture,... More

This is a small, free municipal gallery in a great location on the bank of the South Saskatchewan River. There's free parking onsite, or it's a nice riverside walk from downtown. The Mendel always seems to have interesting, well curated special exhibitions, such as the one at the moment on Emily Carr and her circle, though the gallery space is... More

The Mendel is perfect for art lovers. It's compact and the David Thauberger exhibit was well put together. My friend and I enjoyed the room with art by local school age children. It's wonderful to see a gallery that is so connected with youth in the community. Don't miss the civic conservatory. The lush smell of plants and the array... More

This is a small gallery that delivers both intimacy and space in a well-designed series of rooms for showing art. Staff are welcoming and informative and the gift shop offers plenty of variety for take-home treasures at a range of prices. i liked the emphasis on local work and historic prairie work. i also like the emphasis on hands on... The Mendel Art gallery is a free to the public venue that sites looking over the Saskatchewan river. The gallery itself is almost totally dedicated to modern artists, but the quality is high and the setting is perfect. The building itself a modernist design icon. Inside the building you'll find a glass house of exotic flowers, a well stocked and... More

I loved the works by Eli Bornstein. Had a time finding this on Trip Advisor because it"s in the wrong category.

Nice gallery for the size of city. Cafe is nice, although food choices wane in the afternoon. Sunday there can be a lot of kids there in the afternoon. Nice 15 min walk from Sheraton and Delta. Free. Friendly staff. Gift shop is a little congested but there are some nice items and it does not feel like a tourist... More
