The Citadelle was what made my trip to Quebec City. Don't settle for seeing the Citadel from outside and peering through the front door. Though it's not exactly cheap, the guided tour is well worth the price. Not only do you get to see all around the interior of the fort, but you will get to walk through several rooms... More

Take the tour you will learn many intestestings things about how the Citadelle was used and the war. Also much on the history of the Vandoos and their participation in the wars. More

A private tour (no other tourists, we were lucky) makes a huge difference. Don't be shy, ask lots of questions because they genuinely want to educate you about its history, which was fascinating for a history buff like myself. Avoid the long entrance by going LEFT when you enter through the tunnel ;-) More

Everything about the citadel is intriguing. You must navigate an actual 19th-century labyrinth to access it. You can only tour it with a guide because it's a military base as well as an official residence of the governor general. It has a comprehensive collection of infantry materiel from the 1600s to present-day (including probably the biggest bayonet collection imaginable). Recommended... More

What a journey back in time... our guide was terrific...you actually feel part of the history... this tour is a must when visiting this city. More
