Description: The darkest years of New France are just around the corner with Promenades...
The darkest years of New France are just around the corner with Promenades Fantomes : The Original Ghost Walking Tour. In the very heart of old Quebec City, this unique and interactive experience will offer scares, laughs and history. Our friendly and knowledgeable ghostly guides will gladly uncover the darker side of history of the colony, recounting the stories of worst criminals, sentences and even torture practices of the French or English regimes. Meet some of the colony’s worst scoundrels with our interactive street theatre “Crimes in New-France” Discover local superstitions and legends of yore, and visit scenes where death has left its mark with “Legends and superstitions”. On a lighter note, our jolly ghosts invite you to come relive the old Christmas traditions or experience winter as the French settlers did in our tour “Christmas in New-France”. The executioner Jean Rattier and his wife Marie Riviere summon you, but one question remains: Will you dare to try it?

My husband and I have attended both "ghost" walking tours in Quebec City. Whilst one is a walking tour, with a few "ghostly" stories, this one - Les Promenades Fantomes- was exceptional. The "guides" are actors who have well rehearsed their parts and play their roles with passion that can at times be almost frightening ("La Corriveau" thought she needed... More

I took the Nouvelle-France Crimes with Charles and it's was very entertaining! Even though the subject matter was heavy and at times gruesome, our guide made us laugh and made things lighter. However, a little more history would have added a lot to the stories. Good job!

We really enjoyed our tour with Les Promenades Fantomes. The characters revisited the crimes they did and the punishment put upon them. This was really interesting - and a twist to the normal walking tours we have done. Would highly recommend the tour & thought it was great value for the 2 hours of entertainment provided.

We went as a three generation family vacation. After a day of travel, shopping and eating, we chose a 90 minute walking tour. Crazy as it sounds, we were never tired or bored as the guide was so good at her job and kept everyone involved in the action. It was easy to stay engaged and caught up in the... More

I have went on the same tour twice in two years and enjoyed my second experience as much as the first time. The guides are great actors, they know what they are talking about and they are great storytellers. We loved how they stick to their characters even outside their stories and speeches. I would recommand that tour to everybody... More

We saved this for the last of 3 nights and it was a great cap to the trip. Maude (a.k.a. Marie from the late 1700s) added lots of humor to the education she gave us about being part of New France. The guides are hilarious, knowledgeable and extremely friendly. We covered a lot of ground in Quebec City but this was my favorite adventure. We did the interactive ghost tour of the Old City which leaves you at the bottom of the funicular at the end of the tour. I suggest staying to have a drink or a late night snack... More

If you visit Quebec, this is a must see historical tour. The actors were amazing! The historical information can be gathered more here than any other tour
