This place is always jammin' and you will likely have to wait and keep your hawk eyes open if you want a table. Thirsty? No worries! Go wait by the bar and one of the bartenders will come around to grab your order. All the beers are phenomenal, personally I recommend the Peche Mortel.

Dieu du Ciel is a wonderful microbrewery with a great selection of beers. They have a nice patio where seats are at a premium during warm summer months, as well as a warm wooden interior for colder times. The beers are great. My favourite is the Disco Soleil, though there are several great options. The place is especially nice because... More

Good selection of in-house craft beers. Didn't have any food since we'd recently eaten elsewhere, but it did look really good. Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I have been in many cities and tried many hundreds of beers from many breweries, In our humble opinion, Dieu du Ciel is the best. Tragically, it is extremely rare outside of Quebec, so when you are in Montreal you have to make a pilgrimage to the source and try some. This is not the brewery itself... More

Loved the beer in Montreal and Dieu du Ciel is a great place to taste some of the local's finest. The place is a little small, so it may be hard to find a table, but its definitely worth going to!

Really cool micro-brew. Only serves their own beers. Mortalite, Disco Soleil and Peche Mortel are my recommendations, although they rotate beers so often that there is always something good to try! The hibiscus beer is a manly drink that is neon pink! On any day, this place packs up really fast so go early and save seats. Food is decent,... More

Visited on Thursday night and it was packed inside and out! The beers we tried were all nice and the service was good. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area and want a selection of 15+ beers!

If you love beer this is definitely the place to be. A friend of mine who's from Montreal recommended this place to me. My hotel was near the water so it was a bit of a trek to get here but it's well worth it. There are so many different kinds of beers with many different sizes to choose from... More

Have been drinking their beers for a few years - introduced to them at a beer festival in Gatineau a couple of years back. They have literally the best stouts available. Full of flavour. Both the Aphrodite (Aphrodisiac in French) and Peche Mortel are unreal stouts. We were heading to Montreal so figured we'd take a detour to check the... More

Staying in Le Plateau Mont-Royal

Neighborhood Profile
Le Plateau Mont-Royal
Go native in Plateau Mont-Royal, where bespoke shopping, hip eateries, and wacky paint jobs attract locals and transplants alike, making it one of the city's most diverse and distinctly authentic experiences. A creative hub, Montreal's artistic elite pack the cafes along Rue Saint-Denis, where young painters and fashion designers draw inspiration from the playful murals and stately Victorian homes that dot the Plateau's side streets. Not a major sightseeing destination, a visit to Plateau Mont-Royal allows you to enjoy a local perspective, soaking in indie films, latte art, contemporary galleries, and the city's best bagels. A center of polyglot culture, Québécois accents mingle with shades of Portuguese, Greek, and Hebrew in the area's iconic Mile End district, where restaurants straddle chic designer boutiques, serving up chorizo and caldo verde. Friendliest to those on foot, it's a jungle of colorful awnings and sidewalk umbrellas, pedestrian walks and luxury shopping.
