Last few times that I went to their concert were a total deception. Maestro Negano does not seem to take his job seriously enough. The orchestra has a narrow repertory and every year, they repeat same pieces such as Tchaikovsky's first piano concerto or Beethoven's Emperor. When a more complicated or less famous piece is played, it is played with... More

Attended the last night of the Francofolies in which the orchestra played outdoors with several famous Quebecoise singers. People were well-behaved, show was great.

Place des Arts is one of the best accoustic place we have been to. The Montreal orchestra is absolutely fantastic.

The "Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal" is very impressive to listen. More, the "Maison symphonique" where they play is a brand new place: the acoustique and the organisation are beautifull. Don't miss it

The new theater is absolutely beautiful, all wood mad, and the acoustic is spendid. the room is slighly long and narrow, the view can be more difficult from the back, but try a seat on the side (more expensive) or even behind the players, and you won't be disapointed.

The symphony crowd here are like pods of dolphins - there is a true love of music in Montreal. Going to the symphony is not just "something to do". It's a beautiful thing. I'd love to know how many millions were spent on renovating Place Des Arts and the entire outside of it too because I would not have recognized... More

Magical and entertaining OSM with Conductor Kent Nagano. The OSM have concerts all over the city and usually has a great annual and diversified program. When in Montreal, if you enjoy beautifully orchestrated classical music, this is a must

On cold evenings you can enter from the Metro. This is a rather austere and very modern, but nonetheless impressive concert hall with very spacious seating and good views for all. However, we sat near the back and felt a very long way from the action and found the sound of the orchestra a bit muted. Depends what you see... More

The concert hall is well worth seeing, and state-of-the-art in every possible way. The acoustics are phenomenal, and the OSM does justice to both the technology and warmth of the place. The ushers are helpful and polite, even if you don't speak French. It's very easy to see that Montreal loves its orchestra and Maestro Negano, and that the feeling... More
