I was fortunate to witness the OSM perform with Philip Glass from a great vantage point: Right behind and above the orchestra. I personally know a member in the Orchestra and I know that they work hard and strive for perfection. The presentation was very moving. The politeness of the staff, the environment, the beautiful architecture and acoustics made this... More

Amazing musical quality in an even more amazing setting. La Maison Symphonique is a must see (and "must-listen") experience. Incredible virtuosity of orchestra coupled to flawless conducting by Maestro Kent Nagano. DO NOT MISS this on your trip to Montreal! Also in the heart of dowtown, where all the action is!

This is one of those places you have to visit when in Montreal. The simple elegance of the architecture, and the amazing acoustics make the Maison Symphonique one of the best music halls in the world for classical music. I've been here a few times with my family, and I must tell you when the music starts, you here beauty... More

Dittos to all who have previously raved about the symphony at Christmas. We, too, were lucky to get seats for what was a wonderful performance in a spectacular venue. I would go back for this symphony any time at almost any price.

What a treat to listen to the OSM in the Maison symphonique. I cannot think of a better place to enjoy Christmas music with a conductor of the calibre of Kent Nagano.

Saw a great performance of Bach and Mendelssohn with a pre concert organ recital. Musicians were great and the evening was very special.

Ken is truly a Maestro of World Class Caliber. If you come to Montreal and the Orchestra plays as good as the one in Vienna, you realize that Ken is doing a great job!

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
