We saw a delightful part of Quebec through a tour of two wineries, one an apple and wine producer and the other a small vineyard owned and operated by the charming Monique and her husband Danielle. Our tour guide Gail was knowledgeable and enthusiastic with her presentation. The contrast between a larger winery and a smaller one was very interesting.... More

My husband and I took our son to the Eastern Townships this weekend for some relaxation and wine tasting. The wineries in the Dunham area were quite amazing and we were were very happy with part of the passport. However, we wanted to try some of the restaurants recommended in the book. The first one had moved, and the second... More

We did the half day tour and it was one of our best experiences in Montreal. You take a bus outside of Montreal into the wine region. You taste at 2 wineries and have the opportunity to taste 12 wines over the afternoon while also learning about the vineyards and brewing facilities. At Vignoble et Cidrerie Coteau Rougemont we particularly... More

Of you want to see what the Montreal countryside is like and, at the same time, taste some decent wine, take this trip . Gail was a wonderful guide. And the stop at Vignoble les Murmures was very very special. Daniel the proprietor turns making wine into a poetic joy. He is the embodiment of passion and wherever your interest... More

We were looking for different experience of Montreal and we found it. We decided to tour some regional vineyards. We choose to take the half day wine tour, as we were unsure on tasting wine all day. We tasted some very good wines, meet some passionate people and enjoy great scenery of two vineyards. Well organized, we felt very well... More

Spent a wonderful afternoon discovering two Quebec winery. Tasted some very good wines, meet some passionate people and enjoy great scenery. I strongly recommed that you try it out, ether the half day or full day tour. Well organized, young entreprise with a bright future. They really take care of their clientele. A lovely afternoon in a small group. We really enjoyed both wineries that we visited, especially the second one with Merlot the dog and the beautiful scenery. The bus was clean, new and air conditioned. We were given bottles of water and some snacks (although someone decided he'd have five before it reached the rest of us!)

Spent a beautiful July day on a Kava tour with my husband and adult children. Our guide, Pierre-Etienne, was knowledgeable and fun. We went to three different "operations." Two were wineries and one was cider and wine. Our favorite was the cider/wine one called Union Libre. Lovely owners, beautiful store with great gifts, a delicious lunch, hands-on cocktail making and... More

We had the pleasure of taking an all day wine tour with KAVA. Our guide Michel was excellent and most knowledgeable about the wines of the area. As this tour was arranged through the hotel we did not know what to expect, but it did not disappoint. In addition to learning about the various varietals in the region, we were... More

We did the full day wine tour. The bus is comfortable (though could perhaps be a little more air conditioned) and the pick-up sites are centrally located. We enjoyed the first stop the most -- the owner did the English tour and was a delight. The wine was amazing. The second stop is actually for cider, which was unexpected but... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
