A lovely afternoon in a small group. We really enjoyed both wineries that we visited, especially the second one with Merlot the dog and the beautiful scenery. The bus was clean, new and air conditioned. We were given bottles of water and some snacks (although someone decided he'd have five before it reached the rest of us!)

Spent a beautiful July day on a Kava tour with my husband and adult children. Our guide, Pierre-Etienne, was knowledgeable and fun. We went to three different "operations." Two were wineries and one was cider and wine. Our favorite was the cider/wine one called Union Libre. Lovely owners, beautiful store with great gifts, a delicious lunch, hands-on cocktail making and... More

We had the pleasure of taking an all day wine tour with KAVA. Our guide Michel was excellent and most knowledgeable about the wines of the area. As this tour was arranged through the hotel we did not know what to expect, but it did not disappoint. In addition to learning about the various varietals in the region, we were... More

We did the full day wine tour. The bus is comfortable (though could perhaps be a little more air conditioned) and the pick-up sites are centrally located. We enjoyed the first stop the most -- the owner did the English tour and was a delight. The wine was amazing. The second stop is actually for cider, which was unexpected but... More

1/2 day tour or 2 wineries both family owned. The first is a large operation selling wine through out the county. Who would guess they grow the chardonnay grape and the wine from the grape is EXCELLENT. The other vineyard is a small family owned and operated. with the help of merlot their dog. a different view of a family... More

I purchased tickets through Kava Tours for my husband and myself. Pros: -Able to taste various wines. -Beautiful grounds -Tour guide Gail was wonderful! -Good amount of info -Serene drive to vineyards Cons: -For $80+ dollars and NO lunch I think is wrong. The company offers a "snack" which were the petit size almond bags, petit bag of chocolate covered... More

I went on the half-day tour with three other ladies. We had a lovely day. It was fun to get out of the city and learn about the Quebec wine industry. The two vineyards we visited were quite different from one another, so the contrast was fun. The tours were very thorough, I would have preferred more time for tasting... More

My husband an I took the full day excursion and we had a great day. Very enjoyable, the 3 x wineries visited were very welcoming with a great selection. We really enjoyed the cuser place. The only downside is the coach has insufficient sir com and so the 1.5hous back to downtown montreal was a sweat box! Not so nice... More

What a great way to spend a day during a visit to Montreal! Our guide, Michel, could not have been nicer or more knowledgable. He made everyone feel comfortable and welcome. The trip was perfectly organized and filled with lots of lovely surprises. I will also say that I was not expecting much from the lunch provided, but it was... More

Staying in Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)

Neighborhood Profile
Olympic Park & Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa)
Named for the Olympic Stadium complexes built for the 1976 games, the Olympic Park and the surrounding neighborhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (HoMa) make up an invigorated area dedicated to "Space for Life." Around the Olympic Village's arenas and stadiums, Rue Sherbrooke welcomes exploration of its sculpture gardens decorated in the works of Jean-Paul Riopelle and its museum culture headed by the historical Château Dufresne. Maisonneuve Park offers interactive experiences at its bio-dome, insectarium, planetarium, and botanical gardens. For a change of scene, the gentrified space along Rue Ontario Est is packed with the city's newest, edgiest cafes, where an imaginative, youthful crowd sips foamy cappuccinos. A visit here is incomplete without stepping into the vast halls of the Maisonneuve Market, with flower stalls, wine depots, and local produce.
