We visited the botanical gardens on a free day along with the Biodome and the insectarium. The botanical garden was the best out of the three by far! We particulary liked the Chinese and Japanese gardens, they were beautiful and we even saw a red squirrel! There are many other areas and themed gardens too and so much to walk... more

Strongly recommend people who visit Montreal in fall to go to the Magic of Lanterns at the Montreal Botanical Garden. The lanterns are on from September 11 to November 1st in the Chinese Gardens. We loved the gardens...especially the sensory garden where you could touch and smell the plants. There was a lot to see, smell and do and our kids really enjoyed it as well. more

Very beautiful, with a number of spectacular themed gardens and hothouses. The Japanese and Chinese gardens are a must-see. The Japanese and the Chinese seem to be involved in a friendly competition that has resulted in two large collections of bonsai and penjing. If you have kids, do not miss the Insectarium. more
