Living in northern Vermont, we often make a late winter pilgrimage to the Montreal Botanical Gardens to breath the warm humid air in the green of the rainforest and other tropical environments in the greenhouses and to sit among and be sat upon by the butterflies.

The Montreal Botanical gardens is a lovely place to go for a walk and enjoy the beauty of mother nature. Situate in the east end of the island where you can also have a look at the Olympic Stadium.

We came here in mid-April, so the blossoms hadn't appeared outside yet. Inside, there were very good exhibits, especially the butterfly one and the tropical fruits one. Thing is, prices are pretty high. Parking by itself is $12, and the family price is about $50. Still, this place is a very good attraction when visiting Montreal.

I try to visit at least a couple of times a year. There are always new things to see and different exhibits. Best to check on their website. The tropical garden is beautiful. When the flowers are in bloom it is breathtaking. There is something for everyone. Highly recommended if visiting Montreal.

Great maintained gardens, lots of plants to look at and take pictures of. Not all trees and plants were blooming or had fruits on them, though.

I try to visit the Botanical Gardens at least twice every year : in full flower and in the autumn with the fall colours. It's a beautiful serene place no matter how big the crowds are. Last summer was extra special with the huge mounted showpieces. I always lije to visit the "potager", vegetable gardens,, the spice garden in the... More

if you like to relax in beautiful surroundings, this is the place, very near the Olympic stadium that you can do at the same time with the Biodome. There are always new activities so go to their website to verify what is on at the time of your visit. It is very huge so prepare to walk.

The Botanical gardens receive certain exhibits such as Mosaiculture, the Chinese lanterns, etc... but they are just amazing at their natural state as well and a must see at any time of year. Each season has its magic.

The beginning of Feb. untll the end of April there is a unique butterfly exhibition it is a must wonderful for kids as well as adults just dont forget the camera!!! the only downside is that except for the exhibitions (there are some) the park is covered by snow at this time and you miss a lot of the fun...

I spent an hour there and it was alright. The butterfly exhibition is pretty cool. Lots of butterflies flying around. But for $20 it's not really worth it as there is nothing else to see. But I'm sure in the summer months it would be quite impressive. Banana trees and citrus trees blooming would be pretty cool.
