Urban Marmotte offers you great walking tours.

Lasting from 3 to 6 hours, we like taking the time needed to really show you around. Our tours are flexible and capture the backpacker's spirit: no rush, easy going, very informative and enjoyable. Our tours are a good mix of main attractions and places that are off the beaten tracks.

Try the Grand Tour, our famous 6 hour walking tour, showing up to eight different areas and ambiances - the perfect tour to have before exploring the city by yourself. Or take another tour like "Old Montreal in Depth", a 3 hours tour that takes the time this historical area deserves or instead visit the Old Montreal at its best with the Old Montreal by Night Tour.

See our website for a complete list of tours, schedules and rates. We also offer private tours.

We always try to do a walking tour when visiting a city for the first time. Normally these are 2 - 3 hours, but having four full days to spend in Montreal, we were attracted to the 6 hour Grand Tour offered by Michel, We booked in advance and paid upfront. On the day (a Saturday in late Sept) we... More

We are not normally tour people, would rather explore on our own but we were so glad we made the choice to go along with Michel on his Grand Walking tour. Michel asked what sights we had already seen and where we wanted to go, he then tailored our 6 hour walk accordingly. Michel’s knowledge about Montreal is astounding; the... More

Was really looking forward to spending the day seeing Montreal on foot. For various reasons tour got canceled and despite agreeing to pay for a private tour a guide could not be located and it was my one day to see the city. If you book with this company check at least 24 hours before your tour to ensure the... More

Michel took us on his "Grand Tour." He tailored it to our interests and our pace. He was friendly, knowledgeable, a good communicator, all-in-all an excellent tour guide. He tried to help us seek out a particular souvenir we were seeking for our son. We got a much better sense of areas we had already visited on our own, and... More

My wife and I took the Grand Tour with Michel today and cannot recommend it enough. Michel is incredibly knowledgable about the history on Montreal and he shares tidbits of that history throughout the tour. This tour takes you through all parts of Montreal, not just the usual tourist areas. We saw things we would not have seen even after... More

Our guide, Michel, took us on a private six-hour walking tour of central Montreal. We saw Old Montreal, Chinatown, the Latin Quarter, the Plateau, the underground city, Notre Dame Cathedral, the convention center, and much much more. Michel is a great guide and took time to answer all of our questions in detail. He showed us things that tourists might... More

I am writing to thank you for yesterday's tour of Montréal which Linda and I thoroughly enjoyed. Your unflagging enthusiasm, energy and entertaining presentation have enriched our stay in the city to say the least. We saw far more than we had thought possible and you gave so much information and insights at every stop and along the way. Finishing... More

Would highly recommend. We went on the six hour your which took us through some of the more well known parts of Montreal as well as some of the lesser known areas which you don't normally see on a tourist tour. Michel was super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, answering all and any questions we had. We managed to book the... More

We took the 6 hour Grand Tour with Michel. I chose that tour based on the other reviews and Michel exceeded our expectations. Both, my husband & I enjoyed how knowledgeable with the history & area, spoke excellent English and shared tips & places that only the locals are familiar with. I recommend taking the tour on the first day... More

Definitely a must on your first day in Montreal! The tour was great, but at the end I felt like I was overloaded with information. Our guide did take us to some cool places which I don't think we would have found ourselves. We walked through a bunch of different neighborhoods, so we got better oriented around the city.
