Using the amazing network of the world famous underground city, you'll do this tour without freezing. (we go outside too but few minutes at a time) Go off the beaten tracks and visit the city from a very unusual angle. See amazing indoor public places, historical buildings and stories that happened there, art installations and futuristic tunnels. Our tours are flexible and capture the backpacker's spirit: no rush, easy going, very informative and enjoyable. Our tours are a good mix of main attractions and places that are off the beaten tracks. With reservation only. See our website for a complete list of tours, schedules, rates and to book a place. Last minutes are welcome if there is places available. We also offers private tours. « less

Really wish we'd been able to take this tour at the beginning of out stay in Montreal rather than the end as it was informative and interesting! Michel was a great guide and the tour went ahead even though there was only myself and my partner! In addition to the process of getting around, Michel had lots of interesting knowledge... More

My wife and I take lots of walking tours. We took the Grand Tour. It was one of the most comprehensive tours we have taken. Lots of walking but come away with a great overview of the city's history and its layout today. Would recommend it without reservation.

My boyfriend, our good friend, and I took the Grand Tour with Michel, and it is was easily the best tour I have ever taken. We met Michel at around 11 AM, toured for about 3 hours, ate lunch, and then toured for about another 3 hours. We covered so much ground: Downtown, Golden Square Mile, McGill, The Underground City,... More

Michel made sure we had a great time! He adapted the tour on the fly to make sure that we all were comfortable (it was a seriously cold day, Michel said the coldest he's ever led an outdoor tour on!), but we still covered a lot of ground and learned a lot. Though we couldn't cover quite as much ground... More

Hi Andrew Thanks for the great words. I enjoyed the conversations too! Hope you liked your New year's Eve special meal. (Oh and we didn't skip much of the Grand Tour because of the cold temperature. Only parts of the Plateau. Yay!) More

I found myself in Montreal last week, from the 21st through the 25th of October. When I travel to a new city, I always try to take at least one walking tour to familiarize myself. I never use bus tours for this purpose - I find them stale, boring, and disorienting. It gives a much better experience to walk and... More

It was our first time in Montreal and there was so much to see and do and so little time to take it all in. Taking the 6 hour tour was the smartest move we made. Our guide had so much information to share with us and his knowledge of all the areas of the city gave us a feeling... More

I agree with the other posts in that Michel is a great tour guide and the tour itself was very informational especially for those who are interested in local history. That said, for those who've been to Montreal many times and tend to venture off beaten paths (read: non-touristy) like myself, you may find parts of this tour kinda touristy.... More

We booked the Grand Tour and had a really interesting day. Underground Montreal was fascinating and we liked the way in which the route taken took us through all the various districts. Recommended particularly if your stay in Montreal is short.

We booked with Michel at Urban Marmotte based on TA reviews, and we were not disappointed. Michel spent more than 6 hours showing us the highlights and the quiet nooks. He's really knowledgeable, and he caters to the group's interests. Highly recommend!

We had over 6 hours with Michel, who I can only describe as absolutely brilliant! He has a depth of knowledge and showed us so much of the city if we had left that day we would have felt we had seen Montreal. Michel's also gave us a recommendation for dinner which was also excellent, his easy going, thoughtful style... More
