Description: Urban Marmotte offers you great walking tours. Lasting from 3 to 6 hours...
Urban Marmotte offers you great walking tours. Lasting from 3 to 6 hours, we like taking the time needed to really show you around. Our tours are flexible and capture the backpacker's spirit: no rush, easy going, very informative and enjoyable. Our tours are a good mix of main attractions and places that are off the beaten tracks. Try the Grand Tour, our famous 6 hour walking tour, showing up to eight different areas and ambiances - the perfect tour to have before exploring the city by yourself. Or take another tour like "Old Montreal in Depth", a 3 hours tour that takes the time this historical area deserves or instead visit the Old Montreal at its best with the Old Montreal by Night Tour. See our website for a complete list of tours, schedules and rates. We also offer private tours.

We booked a walking tour of Old Montreal for the evening. We were 3 large groups of adults from various countries along with a few who have lived in Montreal for quite a while. Everyone loved it and were impressed by all the interesting information!!! The guides - Michel, Martin and Martine were extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The groups were... More

Michel lead a fun, informative and entertaining adventure, inside and underground. Our group was mixed English and French speaking and as an English speaker never felt slighted. I've been to Montreal many times but learned so much today. I highly recommend this tour. I may do their outdoor tour, when it warms up😊.

I went on a private Urban Marmotte Grand Tour with Michel last month(December,2014). This was easily arranged through e-mails with Michel prior to my arrival in Montreal. I wanted to use my first full day in Montreal to get a good orientation to varied aspects(historical, architectural, cultural, etc.) of the central downtown area. I felt that I got exceptional value... More

Had a great 3 hour tour of Old Montreal with a wonderful guide Martine. We learned a lot about the area we would never have known on our own. Including where to get the best macarons in Montreal....you'll have to ask her :) !! Very reasonable cost to get a private tour. Definitely use Urban Marmotte when we visit Montreal... More

Michel is such a great guy and tour guide. As it was the last tour of the season, it was only my husband and I on the tour and it was awesome! Michel is very easy going and great to talk to. He knows so much about the city! This tour was perfect to do to see a lot of... More

We took this tour on the first day of our first visit to Montreal to get a feel for how it is laid out, how it developed, and get ideas for attractions to return to during our remaining time. This tour allowed us to meet and exceed all those goals. Michel is unbelievably knowledgeable about the history of the city;... More

Unlike other big cities Montreal doesn't seem to provide many free tours. sigh. This tour comes closest by guiding you through the whole city for over six hours for ridiculously cheap price. If six hours are too long for you, you may be able to split your tour to two days. The guide Michel is super knowledgeable and very fun.

Montreal is an amazing city - it has history, multiple cultures, great food, and is compact enough to walk... My first recommendation is: do this early in your trip! You'll see a sample of the entire city (not just "Old Montreal") and then you can re-visit the places that Michel describes - - in full detail! We took the Grand... More

Hi Jay I can't agree more with your first sentence. :) I enjoyed the tour and your curiosity: it's always motivating to do a tour with curious and interressed persons. Do I understand that you've been to the restaurant I told you in the Chinatown and the Basque's one also? Glad you liked the first, I have no doubt that... More

We booked the grand tour based upon the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. It was quite cold (and rainy) for late May but Michel made the best of it and worked in some warm up stops. He is a very knowledgeable guide and a genuinely nice person. I can recommend this tour without hesitation.

I only had one full day in Montreal en decided to book the grand tour with urban marmotte. It was really cheap for a tour that lasts 5 to 6 hours! It was raining and it was cold but that was ok because the guide took us inside buildings when it was too cold and since Montreal has some great... More

Thanks for the good words Sladjana. We don't have much visit from Netherlands so i'm glad you enjoy what was the first Grand Tour of the season. 24 hours is so short. Now that we introduced you to Montreal, you'll have to comeback to appreciate it more. :-D More
