Our tours are flexible and capture the backpacker's spirit: no rush, easy going, very informative and enjoyable. Our tours are a good mix of main attractions and places that are off the beaten tracks. Try the Grand Tour, our famous 6 hours walking tour, showing up to eight different areas and ambiances - the perfect tour to have before exploring the city by yourself. Or take another tour like "Old Montreal in Depth", a 3 hours tour that takes the time this historical area deserves or instead visit the Old Montreal at its best with the Old Montreal by Night Tour. See our website for a complete list of tours, schedules and rates. We also offer private tours. « less

We took this tour on the first day of our first visit to Montreal to get a feel for how it is laid out, how it developed, and get ideas for attractions to return to during our remaining time. This tour allowed us to meet and exceed all those goals. Michel is unbelievably knowledgeable about the history of the city;... More

Unlike other big cities Montreal doesn't seem to provide many free tours. sigh. This tour comes closest by guiding you through the whole city for over six hours for ridiculously cheap price. If six hours are too long for you, you may be able to split your tour to two days. The guide Michel is super knowledgeable and very fun.

Montreal is an amazing city - it has history, multiple cultures, great food, and is compact enough to walk... My first recommendation is: do this early in your trip! You'll see a sample of the entire city (not just "Old Montreal") and then you can re-visit the places that Michel describes - - in full detail! We took the Grand... More

Hi Jay I can't agree more with your first sentence. :) I enjoyed the tour and your curiosity: it's always motivating to do a tour with curious and interressed persons. Do I understand that you've been to the restaurant I told you in the Chinatown and the Basque's one also? Glad you liked the first, I have no doubt that... More

We booked the grand tour based upon the reviews on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. It was quite cold (and rainy) for late May but Michel made the best of it and worked in some warm up stops. He is a very knowledgeable guide and a genuinely nice person. I can recommend this tour without hesitation.

I only had one full day in Montreal en decided to book the grand tour with urban marmotte. It was really cheap for a tour that lasts 5 to 6 hours! It was raining and it was cold but that was ok because the guide took us inside buildings when it was too cold and since Montreal has some great... More

Thanks for the good words Sladjana. We don't have much visit from Netherlands so i'm glad you enjoy what was the first Grand Tour of the season. 24 hours is so short. Now that we introduced you to Montreal, you'll have to comeback to appreciate it more. :-D More

Really wish we'd been able to take this tour at the beginning of out stay in Montreal rather than the end as it was informative and interesting! Michel was a great guide and the tour went ahead even though there was only myself and my partner! In addition to the process of getting around, Michel had lots of interesting knowledge... More

My wife and I take lots of walking tours. We took the Grand Tour. It was one of the most comprehensive tours we have taken. Lots of walking but come away with a great overview of the city's history and its layout today. Would recommend it without reservation.

My boyfriend, our good friend, and I took the Grand Tour with Michel, and it is was easily the best tour I have ever taken. We met Michel at around 11 AM, toured for about 3 hours, ate lunch, and then toured for about another 3 hours. We covered so much ground: Downtown, Golden Square Mile, McGill, The Underground City,... More

Michel made sure we had a great time! He adapted the tour on the fly to make sure that we all were comfortable (it was a seriously cold day, Michel said the coldest he's ever led an outdoor tour on!), but we still covered a lot of ground and learned a lot. Though we couldn't cover quite as much ground... More

Hi Andrew Thanks for the great words. I enjoyed the conversations too! Hope you liked your New year's Eve special meal. (Oh and we didn't skip much of the Grand Tour because of the cold temperature. Only parts of the Plateau. Yay!) More

I found myself in Montreal last week, from the 21st through the 25th of October. When I travel to a new city, I always try to take at least one walking tour to familiarize myself. I never use bus tours for this purpose - I find them stale, boring, and disorienting. It gives a much better experience to walk and... More
