What a fun afternoon we just had! Phil, our guide, did a great job of introducing us to many beers- learning about tastes, textures, flavors and styles of beer. We also practiced beer etiquette (who knew?)! This was all pleasantly mixed in with a walking tour and discussion of what Joie de viere means. Highly enjoyable! More

That feeling is well taken care of during this tour. We did the BrewPub tour 2 days ago (2012/05/05) and I just loved it! A very nice selection of beers brewed on-site with tips from our guide on how to savor a beer and what flavors to look for. Our guide Phil was awesome and had a lot of interesting... More

I was coming to Montreal for business and since it was my first time, I decided to use my free day and take a tour of the old town to learn a bit about the city’s history and culture. The tour was very enjoyable and had interesting infos and anecdotes. Our guide Mark was extremely generous and gave good suggestions... More

I have been living in Montreal for over two years now and like to say I'm a Montrealer. The Old Montreal is an area I think of as touristy and so I don't go there often. However, having visitors over, I booked the Old Montreal tour for them. First I have to say this is not your average history lesson.... More

My girlfriend and I recently completed a mid-week tour hosted by Local Montreal cofounder, Ismael Ulvik, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We found Ismael to be very friendly, informative and passionate about his city. Ismael walked us through the arts district (previously known as Montreal’s redlight district), which included visiting some of the educational institutions and urban art... More

This has been my first time in Montréal (actually in Québec; I come from Catalunya) and I had the great chance to take part in this tour of the Quartier des Spectacles. I didn't look for the tour but I was reccomended to go, and I must say it was a really pleasant surprise. Ismael brings you through the popular... More

This was the best tour experiences I've ever had, for about two hours Ismael takes you through a very interesting and often overlooked part of this amazing city. His passion shows with every stop along the way. This isn't a normal dry-boring tour from a book, he interviewed the people who formed and lived the neighborhood and researched fascinating things... Our son had arranged a walking tour for us and another couple. See the city this way, with a helpful personal guide allowed us to enjoy it more, without the risk of getting lost or ending up waliking around in circles. Our guide was enjoyable to be with and really knew his stuff. We would really recommend this tour to... More

Originally we thought this was a tour of Old Montreal. It was not. It was a tour of young, artistic Montreal. It was very informative and showed us a side of the city we would not have otherwise seen. We really enjoyed it. It was cold, but there was a lot of going in and out of buildings so we... More

Firstly the tour guide Ismael has to be one of the most outgoing guides ever to inhabit that fine city. The tour really orientates one with the city and its various neighbourhoods, and takes you to really really cool places that you just couldnt find as a tourist (even with a map). There was a street art festival when we... More
