My 14 yr old son and I took the 4 hour tour of old Montreal. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Both my teenager and I enjoyed learning the history of Montreal and seeing neighborhoods and parks off the well beaten tourist path. I definitely recommend this tour.

We loved our tour of Montreal Architecture and Vistas. Our guide was very knowledgeable and stopped often to tell us what we were looking at! The route was perfect for photo opportunities and took us to a few spots we wouldn't have visited otherwise. The croissant break was a fantastic extra!

I am an admitted fan of city bike tours because you can cover a lot of ground and feel like you are burning off at least a few of those vacation calories at the same time. But the Montreal tour was especially good because the bike paths are excellent. The tour was about 4 hours (14 km); you do not... More

Had a great day rental of bikes for our family of 5. All agreed it was the best day of a wonderful week in Montreal. Followed the recommended tour map routes supplied by the helpful staff. Teenage boys loved biking the Formula 1 race track and stops at the Biosphere, Marche Atwater, ice cream at the sculpture park on the... More

Really loved this tour. Pam, our tour guide, was entertaining, strong, informative and altogether a wonderful character to have guide me around this beautiful city of Montréal. Going to the bagel shop in the Jewish quarter what's the perfect break in between cycling. I highly recommend you take this tour!

We ended up booking a guided tour here (The Montreal Plus) on our second day and found that it was the perfect way to experience the city like the locals do. Bike is really the only way to see what the city has to offer at your own pace.. Rather than renting a bike yourself, I suggest taking the guided... More

We arrived with the family (5 members) to rent some bikes to do some cycling in Montreal and it was a real busy day. No bikes were available but any how the staff helped us out and managed to get us 5 good bikes to enjoy a good bike ride over the Montreal islands in the river. Staff will not... More

We rented bicycles and went to the F1 circuit. Quality of bicycles was really good, the staff was kind and helpful. By far the best time we had in Montreal!

A bike tour to see the city is a must and I would recommend doing it on your first day so that you can get a feel for the city and all of the places that you might like to go back and visit. Our guide Carole was excellent. We did the four hour tour and it was an easy... More

Only having a few days to see Montreal my wife and I decided to do a bike tour. Ca Roule was recommended by our hotel as a reputable bike rental shop. It was on a beautiful Saturday and we hadn't made reservations. The shop workers informed us that they may not have enough bikes for us to rent. Though they... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
