If you're in town and want to do something a little different I would definitely recommend a night at Mado. Yes it is all in French and if you don't understand you will miss a lot of the jokes as I did, but the girls, their costumes and performances are well worth it. You can see Shakira, Cher, Beyoncé and... More

This is by far the most fun I've had on a night out in a while. My friend and I traveled to Montreal for the weekend and this was on our list of places to check out. We arrived by 10:30 and were just in time for the beginning of a show. The environment is fun and upbeat, which is... More

Very fun lively environment, the majority of guest were women, but its the perfect place for a girls night out. We had reservations about going because we heard the show was mainly in french, but the commentaries before the show are quite minimal, you're there to see the entertainment, the music and the girls (who put put on a fantastic... The show was ok but all spoken in French. Cover charge and show starts at 10:30 / 11 p.m. If your English not a great place to go as we learned. Bilingual intro would have been nice. Not going back.

Liked the show, fun and funny! But all in French. Huge downside were the overpriced drinks. Ordered one double vodka/soda, $17! I'm from NYC and not even in Manhattan.

I went here a couple of weekends ago with a group of bachelorettes. The place was packed with bachelorette parties, and getting to the show early is recommended if you want to find seats. The show started at 11ish, and we probably should have gotten there between 10-10:30. The drag queens were amazing! Incredible how they put women to shame... More

Cabaret Mado was the first place I went during my first time visiting Montreal. Because I love drag queens, I was so excited about it. Once I got there, I had to pay 10 dollars to get in, which in my opinion it is a very fair price. The problem started right after I entered the place. There was a... More

We went to Mado for their Tuesday night drag show. After paying the $5 cover and $1.50 for each coat check, it was time to stand and enjoy the show. And a most enjoyable show it was. Comedy and humor, costumes and props to go with the music, and a very talented and professional group of performers. Will definitely be... More

This was my first time attending a drag queen show! It was absolutely fabulous! What talented performers! They have bodies that are better than many women! I was very impressed! The banter in between each performance is mainly in French, although Mado does speak English especially to tease any of the tourists. It is a lot of fun!! I can't... More

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
