Pretty great ride up!

This was fun riding up the incline elevator and the view from the top was great. Everything was closed when we got there after 5 even though they were still running the lift up.

We went up the tower at Olympic tower and walked around to take in the views. It's not the most impressive view there, we liked the mountain much better. The coolest part was the olympic swimming pool. To sit in the stands and think about all the athletes and spectators was amazing. There were some people swimming laps and diving... More

This tower affords awesome views of the city. We visited on a beautiful May long weekend when the visibility was excellent, so we got great views and pictures of the city. I don't know if I'd go on a day with less visibility. Go on a clear day.

If you find yourself close-by, you might as well go up. It gives you a pretty good idea of where you are and some of the high points in Montreal's skyline.

BEWARE of the area! We parked right by the entrance to the Insectarium since there isn't any parking near the Olympic Tower. Our vehicle was broken into. All the luggage and other valuables were stolen. Even though the area is busy with people, security and security cameras this didn't deter the criminals. Three other cars were broken into that day.... More

ride the funicular to the top and check out the view. If its a cloudy day I would say skip it. $16.00 per person if purchased alone but you can combine with biodome ticket for a discount.

It is a place to get a nice view of Montreal and Olympic Stadium . That is all that it offers. But still its exciting to go to the height on the funicular.

From this tower you get a great view of Montreal (especially on the great sunny day like mine) but not much else. If you MUST do EVERYTHING there is to do in Montreal and you have the money to spend and can live with a few good pics of the city and souvenirs at the top then by all means.... More

You'll actually get better views of the city from Mont Royal which is free but if you want to do it for the novelty of travelling on the funicular then do it. The Olympic parc area is a bit run down but undertaking great building projects at the moment - this means you do have to walk around all the... More

So, it was nice to go up the tower and spend some time checking out the view of Montreal from above, but there was nothing amazing about this attraction. I think it's worth going up if you are visiting the Biodome but would not come just for this.

Staying in The Village (Gay Village)

Neighborhood Profile
The Village (Gay Village)
The rainbow pillars of Beaudry Métro Station shepherd the way into to The Village, one of the largest hubs for gay and lesbian culture in North America. With an open layout and a congenial aura, the refurbished buildings along Rue Sainte-Catherine pay a special homage to menswear and to caffeine, with showrooms and cafes. By morning, the antiquing gems along Amherst Street are packed with collectors. An incredible party spot, The Village comes alive at night, when clubs, bars, and dance halls open their doors and the revelry is high, epitomized by the fanciful trimmings of the apropos Oscar Wilde building. From May to September, the area closes to automotive traffic, allowing restaurant terraces to pour onto the streets, creating a dynamic sense of community. Les Boules Roses, thousands of pink baubles, are hung to welcome in the festivals and celebrations, including Montréal en Arts, Divers-Cité, and the Pride Parade.
