My husband and I got our first couple's massage at Avie spa; I got the pre-natal massage and he got a relaxation swedish massage. It was lovely! The ambiance was very calm and serene, the staff was very polite and warm and the service was great. We ended up buying vouchers for another visit.

I went to Avie Spa on a bitterly cold day, for a Hammam and Massage Package I had bought through Groupon. A woman at the reception desk named Catalina, greeted me warmly as I walked in. She then offered to speak to me in the language of my choice which I really appreciated. After this, Catalina directed me to a... More

I got my wedding hair done there. The trial was pretty good.. on my wedding day, the stylist was not able to reproduce the same results. It was horrible, I expressed I didn't like it and she just tried to convince me it was ok instead of trying to fix it. My bridesmaid got her hair done there too and... More

Dear client: I am really sorry for this unfortunate situation. Regrettably, the issue was only brought to us (management) after your review. According to our receptionist you didn't mention her anything that day so we could have fixed the problem. I also spoke to the hairdresser and she corroborated that you were indeed not happy with your updo. We take... More

My wife dragged me with her to Avie, we both had massages, but I did not expect to feel so relaxed after that massage. My wife of course said "I told you so", I had to admit she was right. the service is amazing, I'll definitely go back as soon as I am in Toronto

This downtown spa is a great stop when you are in Montreal. I took my aunt there while she was on holidays in Montreal and she just loved it. She had massages and Avie Regenerating facial for an affordable price. She walked out of there smiling. I was proud to have chosen Avie

This is an excellent spa in downtown Montreal. They do massages, professional facials, hairdressing... Being a massage lover, I went there for a deep tissue massage. Having a chronic tense muscles , after the massage I was feeling so much better. The therapist did a really great job! Big up to you guys. I will definitely come again!

Excellent staff. I've done hammam in many cities. Its one of the first things I look for when I travel. I truly enjoyed the experience. If you've never done a hammam this is a great introduction. The sauna is private and they give add ons that you wouldn't get in some places. I wouldn't recommend it for a large group... More

When I went to Avie, I expected a simple hammam sauna.. But found a great deal of services, like foot care, massages.. They offer facials, mud baths etc. It's just all in this one place. The location in the Old Montreal is great, offering Avie a very distinctive feel. I loved the fact that I found there a great hair... More

Staying in Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)

Neighborhood Profile
Vieux-Montreal (Old Montreal)
The historic center of Montreal, Vieux-Port is home to some of the city's most antiquated buildings and picturesque streets. Along the waters of the St. Lawrence River, the bank of Old Port features museums, festivals, food stalls, and outdoor athletics, a celebrated part of the city that explodes into fireworks displays on warm summer nights. At its center, street performers and artists compete with sprawling restaurant terraces for space along Jacques-Cartier Square, while the cobbled streets of Rue St. Paul and Rue Notre-Dame offer a reprieve of quiet galleries and atmospheric wine bars. Horse-drawn carriages are not an uncommon part of traffic, and the narrows they traverse are lined with boutiques, crêperies, and poutine shops enshrined in buildings of stone and wooden lattices. Here you can evoke Montreal's past with a traditional cooking lesson or historical tour, then enjoy its artistic present with live music and theater.
