This classic arts theater complex is favoured by many singers, jazz performers and classic music fans. Hosting SO many events, anyone visiting Montreal should attend and event here. Soak up the ambiance, stroll the indoor complex of stores and restaurants, art boutiques, etc.

It's a great place for events in Montreal. There was the Francofolies. Lots of stages, free concerts, I enjoyed them a lot. Lots of museuns and galeries around.

I loved going to Place des Arts. Both times I've been have been in the summer months when there always seems to be a festival going on. There is usually a big stage set up with anything from musical performances to fashion shows going on.

This theatre seems small but is very expansive - is connected to an underground series of stores. Attended an opera one night.

Modern with some strange or to my view unconventional décor, spacious with lots to do and places to eat.

This is the best place in Montreal to catch an art show. The "Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal" performs here.

The many theaters and venues have top, top entertainment. The place itself is a spectacle of lights, projections, and people in the evening. Bring a camera!

Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
