I liked the green space by the mini fountains the best. A nice respite if walking from Gay Village down st. Catherines. There was a couple of outdoor acts that we caught that were free or by donation. Not sure what inside had to offer

Excellent facilities and amazing sound. We have attended plays, jazz festival events, musicals, symphony and one person events. Could hear all events clearly. Centrally located with a metro stop in the building. Exiting parking after a major event is at best time consuming. Decor is modern

This is a central complex housing theatre and shops and restuarants etc. I chose a classical concert. The hall (new) enjoyed great acoustics and was in pristeen condition. For culture 'vultures' a must on your visit to Montreal.

It is really beautiful compared to most parts of this city but it's not all that. I still love London's theatres better than this place, I don't know if it's the city or the place that makes it for me.

The WBFF was held here (World Fitness and Fashion) and it was first class all the way. Would definitely return to Place des Arts for future events.

was built in the 60's as montreal's symphony hall.. made up of 3 seperate venues... springsteen played here on his tom joad tour..and dylan played in the mid 70's... it is functional.. but montreal needs a new venue for classical music

If you get a chance check out the organ at Maison Symphonique. The room was specially designed to host this mammoth organ. Quite amazing to see how it is played.

Like Lincoln Centre, there are several theatres and concert halls contained in Place des Arts. It is the home of the world-renowned Montreal Symphony Orchestra (cond. Kent Nagano), which is housed in fabulous new Maison Symphonique (Symphony Hall), which is an architectural and acoustical masterpiece with a warm and inviting ambiance; the magnificent purpose-built concert organ is a sight to... Staying in Quartier des Spectacles

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier des Spectacles
The bar-none entertainment district for music and arts, Quartier des Spectacles is an interactive playground that delights the senses. It totals over 30 performance halls, with the vibrant Place des Festivals at its heart. The outdoor event space features glowing towers, glass edifices, and granite-lined bike paths, and hosts annual festivals, concerts, and comedy nights. The cinema, theaters, and exhibition centers are entwined with external art projects, exemplified at Montreal's Contemporary Art Museum and appearing along every walkway of the Promenade des Artistes in the form of sculpture and public works, from digitally-enhanced swingsets to glowing fountains. Design, performance, and alternative music come together here, a stone's throw from the lively Latin Quarter along Rue Saint-Denis, the quintessential after-party spot for dinner and a drink following a day of jazz, poetry and play.
