One summer morning I bought some sandwiches and went to the lake at Lafontaine park, which was close to my hostel. It is a nice park with big trees, thick grass and benches around the lake. I saw people jogging, walking their babies or dogs. Some were reading, others sleeping in the grass. It was a quiet, peaceful experience with... More

Lafontaine park is a lovely oasis in Montreal. It is well kept and seems to be extremely popular with locals who like to picnic there. When we went it was summer, and it looked like anyone who wanted to have a nice time brought a bottle of wine and some food and made a nice picnic at the park.

A very well planned and maintained park. it's located pretty much in the center of the city, but because it middle part is lower than the edges (I guess that was part of the plan to have a pond over there), once you get inside, you're pretty much isolated from the city by that wall around you, so it stays... A nice green space where you can listen to lots of people playing music, theres also a playgroud, and a grill zone. Its calm during the week and lots of people go there for the weekend. Nice for a run

This park is like a smaller quieter version of New York's central park. Go for a wander or grab a bixi and take a slow pedal. Plenty of squirrels for tourists to take photos of. Grab a classic poutine from around the corner, find a comfortable spot and relax.

This is a very nice park with a variety of people. There is also Police that patrol it so rest assured that it is safe. It made for a nice walk after Dinner.

Great parc to have a walk while the sun goes down or for a picnic. You will be surrounded by huge and impressive old threes. Good place to relax, play football, volleyball or just enjoy the calm. Great spot, perhaps one of the city best kept secret

Interesting park. Part of the park is modelled according to French tradition while the other reflects English tradition. Interesting monuments featuring prominent political leaders.
