With friends on a cycling tour of Prince Edward Island, I stopped at the Acadian Museum for not quite long enough. We arrived at the end of the day, with only a little over an hour to spend in the museum, which was a bit rushed. The exhibits were well done and informative. The history of the Acadians was better... More

Amazing history of Acadia in a nicely laid out little museum in Miscouche. They start with an exceptionally well done video overview before an independent tour. Loved the first hand accounts of people's experiences. Everyone should take the opportunity to learn more about this part of PEIs history.

This small museum is easily seen in less than one hour and even my wife, who is not a history buff, found it interesting . The Acadian history in PEI is not as well known as that in Nova Scotia but the experience of the Acadians was much the same. This is a really interesting museum and very inexpensive to... More

We've been in the area for many years but never went into the museum. The hostess was informative but in error. She sold us a group ticket (covers three museums) but she was uniformed that the government had closed several of them early. The next museum was closing the day we arrived so we came with locked doors. The nice... More

This is a terrific museum on a subject most of us know nothing about. The Acadian experience was both sad and inspiring and this museum has really interesting portrayal of the history. This would be a great place to visit early on a trip to PEI to appreciate place names and to know some history of the Island as one... More

A splendid place to learn about the Acadian experience in North America. The video presentation was informative and the museum and its artifacts were eye opening. I admit I knew very little about the topic, but left with a new appreciation of the Acadian experience.

The Acadian Museum is a small museum but it is very well done. Your visit starts with a 15 minute film about Acadian history and the hardships suffered during the expulsion. There are some excellent displays showcasing artifacts, dress, and there is a small gift shop where you can purchase books and CDs. We also attended lectures there on PEI... More

First, you must be interested in, or curious about the history of the Acadian people. Not many Americans know anything at all about these displaced, mistreated people, which is a shame. This small museum, in a very organized fashion, traces their history from arrival in the New World, to their expulsion, to their return, and to their culture today. It... More

Manageable for an easy hour long visit. Took my parents there, for whom lots of steps may be a problem. The walk through encapsulates the Acadian history beautifully. Would recommend for those looking for an indoor activity on a cold Moncton day (and there are many!)

Really opened our eyes to the Acadian culture. Very helpful staff even took us to the storage area where artifacts were not on display. More recent history was also presented with pictures of the era. A well spent morning.
