Harbourfront Theatre opened its doors in 1996, the result of more than a decade of tireless effort on the part of a group of Summerside citizens with a vision to create a state of the art, multi purpose performing arts facility in Prince County. The theatre, along with the Eptek Art & Culture Centre and the Summerside Visitor Information Centre, is housed in The Wyatt Centre, aptly named after one of the facility's major contributors, Dr. Wanda Wyatt. Harbourfront Theatre is owned by Regional Cultural Events Centre Inc., a registered non-profit organization managed by a board of directors, general manager, and director of operations, and boasts a friendly, knowledgeable, professional staff and a dedicated core of over 90 volunteers. Its mission is "to provide a continuous live entertainment service to the Prince Edward Island community and its visitors, featuring both local and touring productions, while being a significant driving force within the community to encourage and nurture the development and appreciation of the performing arts." The facility is ideally suited to a myriad of uses, including plays, concerts, opera, ballet, comedy & magic shows, conferences, seminars, receptions, business mixers, trade shows and public forums. Beautifully appointed and state of the art equipped, the Harbourfront Theatre represents the best of both worlds - large enough to host renowned touring acts, yet small enough so that every one of its 527 seats captures a uniquely intimate performer/audience experience.

While Hitchcock makes his normal appearance in the play the twist on this production is that it is extremely funny. Each actor/actress plays multiple roles. The way in which they do this is so witty and cunning that some times you are left going.. wait.. how did that change?! The theatre is a lovely intimate venue. Well worth the fare.... More

We saw the 39 Steps on July 15th. It was fantastic. I am a huge Hitchcock fan and I wasn't sure how they'd adapt the movie (or book it was based on). They did a wonderful job. The performance was funny and lively, and the acting was AMAZING. Each member of the cast (except the main lead) performed multiple roles.... More

This is a comedy adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery. It is a great fast paced show with 4 actors playing all of the many parts. It is interesting to see how fast they can change clothes and accents and keep the story line and comedy rolling. There is one intermission. We were entertained from start to finish. Well worth the... More

This is an Alfred Hitchcock whodunit. An excellent production and difficult to believe that there are only four actors for the whole production. Wonderful acting and an amazingly simple set. In short, we had a wonderful time.

Great location on the Summerside Waterfront. I have attended numerous wonderful plays, musical concerts, and shows here. Not a bad seat in the house! Friendly staff, great acoustics and lots of clean washrooms. Usually bar service with light snacks at intermission. You can also go outdoors and enjoy the beautiful harbour front during intermission. Easy to reserve seating online. Plenty... More

I'm glad I read part of Tom's autobiography because I was able to better understand his past - however that is not a prerequisite to enjoying this fantastic story concert! So thankful we were able to catch the last night of it!

We thought this play was excellent, had a wonderful story and the music was wonderfully sung by the actor portraying Tom Connors. Anyone who did not attend this performance really missed something grand! The theatre itself is very nice and has a friendly staff.

We've enjoyed shows at the Harbourfront in Summerside (once known as the Jubilee) for several years now. Not a bad seat in the house and the acoustics are fine. Easy to buy tickets at reasonable prices (lots of discounts available too), staff welcoming and seats comfortable. "Stompin' Tom" is playing this summer 2014 and it exceeded our expectations, delivered a... More

We've been to the Harbourfront Theatre before and it is a great venue. All seats are good, prices reasonable and the Staff is very friendly. When you add these to a wonderful Show, it makes for a very memorable evening! The "Ballad of Stompin' Tom" was wonderfully done with great talent all the way through. Hats off to Playwright David...
