I am not one to spend a great deal of time with a dry subject, but the Founders hall has been well thought out and maintains your interest throughout the exhibit. Other place like Pier 21 in Halifax could learn a lot from this exhibit to improve upon theirs that have a tendency to put one to sleep. One of... More

The Hall uses a news story like format to tell the story of the actions leading to the Canadian Confederation. Visitors use headsets that are tuned to each area within the hall to learn the history of the development of Canada. The monitors are 27" tube based televisions, some of which were not functioning or the color was bled out... More

We enjoy history. We have visited all U.S. States, all presidential museums boing back to Herbert Hoover and the homes of many others, and have been to Canada about 10 different times visiting all but two provinces. But for some reason, we are embarrassed to confess our ignorance of how Canada came into being, from fragmented colonies to a unified... More

We popped in to founder's hall for maps at the beginning of our trip and then returned at the end of our time in Charlottetown. We did not have to wait very long to be assisted. They answered our questions and gave some good recommendations. The staff was also very kind to help us call a cab.

The information was good, but the static on the recordings was irritating. The displays were well done.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! There is a lot of information here if you're not sure what you want to do, and a lot of tours start here or are booked here. I recommend a visit to start your trip!

A late afternoon, sunny day, and the building was open. Disappointingly, the exihibit within was not. The part that WAS open is a barn of a place - utilitarian, echoing and unwelcoming. Basically it contains a gift shop, tourist brochures and an empty cafe that serves lobster rolls. On the better side, we did receive excellent restaurant advice from a... More

We took the self guided history tour of Confederation inside Founder's Hall. I'm not sure it was worth the time or money, but it did give a refresher course on the history of Canada's confederacy.
