Let's get this out of the way first: it really is a large hole in the ground. If you are expecting the actual home you will be sadly disappointed as it was destroyed many years ago and all that remains now is pretty much the cellar. That being said, for fans of 'Anne' or LMM, this is a 'must see'...

Calm, beautiful, historical place. The quotes from LMM posted around the grounds are enlightening. Talk with a relative of LMM in the bookstore...great experience.
Closes at 6, so you could go for an hour after all the other sites close.

Ms Montgomery lived with her maternal grandparents in the RED area on the attached image (1876-1911). This is approximately at Route 6 / Route 13 intersection, east of the Cavendish United Church. This is NOT where the 'star' is shown on the Trip Advisor Map. My 'excellent' rating is for the Red square location... not the 'star' location.
