Over priced, No big DJ's there anymore like back in the day. Can't get a drink at the bar to save your life. Will be standing there for hours. Toronto needs a new live night club.

I went to the Common concert last night with my hubby as he is a big hip hop fan. Thus, not a huge special effects production. This venue is basically focused on the musician and their performance talents without any other distractions. It's a bare bones venue, everything that you need for a concert: - several bars with about half... More

I've been on i government on many occasions to watch big DJs. I tried to take my friends there tonight to show them a good time. Not a huge DJ playing. It was $50 to get in. I've payed less than that to see tiesto. Ridiculous money. Even the bouncers were saying the that government has deteriorated. Don't bother. Just... More

This has to be one of the weirdest places I have ever been! I visited on a Saturday night, firstly the cover charge was excessive for what it was! As I entered the club I began to notice the dress code was not what you would expect with people finding it normal to wear vest tops on a night out... More

I went to a concert that hadn't exactly sold out, and could have looked really empty in lots of other venues. While the security and ticket services were really crazy (mostly because of management for the artist) the hall at guvernment ended up looking great and suited the audience and artist really well.

This place was awfulllll!! We paid 1000$ as a group for the cabana booth at skybar. First we get there and they wouldnt honour the comps, we had to argue with the bouncer to get free cover. Then, after getting a way too intense pat down (as a female) we have to wait in an extremely long lineup just to... More

Terrible security system. Tried to get in twice only to be mistaken for someone else who got kicked out? What kind of security system is run by face recognition? Try scanning tickets and then Decide whos in the wrong. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

I visited the Guvernment center to see the Band Deftones. It was extremely sketchy upon entry. We were waiting in line, and there's no security outside to ensure the patrons ( entering the building are safe) Upon entry we were checked by security, to make sure we didn't have any type of contraband on us. There's also a coat check,... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
