I got the Baha fish tacos. They were so good. Have ordered fish tacos at other place and they never compare to the Amsterdam. The view is great ,the restaurant is right on the waterfront where you can see Toronto Islands and the island airport, sailboats in the harbour. Great place to eat and get drinks on a nice summer... This is the brewery tap of the Amsterdam Brewery, based up in Leaside. There's a full selection of brews on tap plus the great beers to buy as takeout bottles. All the house styles and some decent deals. There's a no-nonsense bar too with a TV screen and some pub grub. T shirts and merchandise also on show. A good place... More

We liked it so much, we went back for drinks! We stopped for lunch; 3 of us, including a teen. The food was good, the service was good. What we wanted, quickly and hot. Very tasty. Later that evening, after walking around for quite a while, we stopped and sat at the bar for a few drinks. They were very... More

If you like very bitter stuff going down like oil, try the beer. For Germans or Austrian I can not recommend this fancy kind of aftertaste, like glue in your windpipe.

My husband and I visited this place on a Saturday night in July. The selection of in house brewed beers is very good. I ordered an amber lager, my husband - an indian pale ale. We both enjoyed our picks. The pizza to share was the Brewmaster's Sausage. It was finger-leaking! Thin crust, stone baked, juicy! We will definitely come... More

I very much enjoy the new location. A beer out on the patio is a great way to sit and relax with friends. Servers are over worked at peak hours, but always seem to to be trying their best. This is a loud place during the weekend, so don't expect a quiet romantic night out. Overall it's a great place... More

A nice bar on the Waterfront. A wide range of lagers, beers and ales. A range of bar food and meals is available. There is only one access point (at the opposite end to the waterfront). 2lb of chicken wings resulted in about 14 wings and a dip. Warning if allergic to blue cheese because they dont tell you what... More

Dropped by their new location at 45 Esandar in Leaside, near the new "Leaside Village" Longo's store. They were giving tours of their craft process, together with some opportunity to sample the various beers they produce. The bartender gave a useful description of the various beers, from the mainstream lagers, to the ales with more (shall we say) challenging tastes.... More

Staying in East York

Neighborhood Profile
East York
East York includes a portion of old, industrial Toronto. Densely populated but incredibly safe, it boasts some of the city's earliest gardens and gardening clubs, attracting green thumbs everywhere. The tranquility of the Don Valley River area, which is rich with Toronto's oldest and tallest forests, is supplemented by the large ensemble of authentic and refurbished Edwardian homes, giving parts of East York allure. The other draw is for foodies: lovers of Bangladeshi fare will find authentic restaurants and markets in the area, with raw spices and desserts. East York also represents a lot of Toronto's Serbian food culture, and recently, has had an outcropping of solid microbrewery stops. For families, the science center is a favored weekend stop.
