Located in a renovated Victorian house, this two-in-one club boasts a large outdoor patio. Crews is a gay bar for men, and it is known for its pubby atmosphere and its drag shows, which start at 11pm on Wednesday through Sunday. The adjoining Tango bar draws a lesbian crowd. It hosts Tuesday- and Thursday-night karaoke; on Friday and Saturday nights, the women head for the dance floor.

Went here for a bachelorette. It was great. The bride had a blast. We reserved a table next to the stage and it was a fantastic price to do so and well worth it. The table came set up with treats and party favours + a feather boa and crown for the bride to be! Loved the interaction with the... More

Never going again. Security kills the fun vibe. I was frisked without being informed or asked, we were threatened while standing in line by guy doing ID at the door, and while inside various security guards came across as overbearing, pushy, and power hungry. Seems like a strange match - fun, gay bar meets border patrol/customs airport security. Chill out... More

AMAZING!!!!! What a super fun unique place. We wanted something out of the ordinary for my Sister In Law to be's bachelorette and let me tell you it was Extraordinary. The cover was cheap, the staff was super friendly and the Performers were superb. Drinks were reasonable and it had a little something for everyone. Loved the different dance floors... More

My gal pals and I had a great evening here. We enjoyed the shows and choices of music on the dance floors. Not overly crowded but not dead either. We'll be back!

Crews and Tango is the best place on Church St. in the Village to have a good time. Gay or straight.

I was there some time after midnight on a Saturday. There was a queue, but it was moving pretty fast. When it was my turn to go in, the security guy said "I'll pat you down, ok?" I agreed. I showed him my passport. He looked at it and said "Sorry, I can't let you in, you're too intoxicated." I... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
