If you like ballet, the National Ballet of Canada offers some of the finest ballet on the planet! The venue of The Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts is elegant and every seat has a fabulous view.

The performance of the Nutcracker by the National Ballet of Canada was absolutely amazing. It was the first time I have been to a live ballet performance and it was truly worth every penny! I highly recommend for any one to go see it. The Four Seasons Centre where the performance is held was very easy to get to and... More

First time to see ballet and chose the Nutcracker at the Four Seasons centre. We bought rush tickets at the box office on the day of the performance. Good seats at the 2nd last row of the orchestra for $35 with unobstructed view. (normally rush tickets get a seat at the side of the theatre with only partial view of... More

This is our first time to watch the Nutcracker on live in the Theatre. The Ballet Show was totally Great and Amazing!!! :) The story line was lovely and entertaining. All Performers were dancing like Birds or little Angels on the stage and their costumes were Beautiful and eye-catching!!! I could easily feel the 'Magic of Christmas joys' inside the... More

Went to an evening performance of the Nutcracker Ballet with my daughters, my sister and her daughter. I had never been to the ballet before and was completely impressed. The 4 Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts is so easy to get to. We took the Go Train and subway. From the subway you don't even have to go outside... More

The Nutcracker at the 4 seasons. I'm an art director myself and was surprised to see talent and costumes yet no substance and visual storyline that corresponded with the music. Kids were laughing at the lambs, sheep, fox, bear.......not in the original story line. The theatre is crowded and anybody that suffers vertigo should be warmed to be careful because... More

The National Ballet's performance of the Nutcracker should be boycotted. I agree with the other reviewer who pointed out that at $600 for a family of four, expectations are high. The audience should demand better. The performance we saw last year was rushed and over very, very fast. When it ended, everyone around us was incredulous! Karen Kain's version is... More

Somehow it seems that the show that returns every year that my friends want to see is the Nutcracker. I must admit that the new money invested for the set and costumes is impressive. But it is the same show giving the young and new dancers a chance at performing on the stage. Beautiful and graceful as always. Well worth... More

If you're visiting Toronto, don't invest precious time and money attending this peculiar production. Performed by a live orchestra, Bizet's music is magnificent. Unfortunately, the inclusion of taped Innuit throat singing in the score is both disruptive and incongruent. Further, no amount of sexy costumes or psychidelic video backdrops can offset wooden choreography and poor styling choices. Picture Carmen, a... More

I watched Carmen on 6th June and was disappointed. Not that the production did not have strong moments. Other than the silly scene of men in drag and the character of Escamillo presented as an effeminate bull, the second half was much better, because it was more concise in furthering the action. My main disappointment was due to the production... More
