Wife & I did the sweets version of this as part of our anniversary weekend. You spend most of the tour in Kensington Market which is a really diverse and interesting area. Lots of great stops and samples were delicious - tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would do another version in the future.

We met early at a bakery in Chinatown to begin the tour with insightful history of sugar and sweets. Walking through the neighbourhood to a variety of stores where tasty samples were provided by each store. It was great to talk with the owners and workers at each place and taste their sweets.

My friend and I spent Saturday afternoon with Alex from Tasty Tours discovering divine chocolate haunts (and just before Hallowe'en). The chocolates were delicious, the places on the tour were often surprising (in the best sort of ways) and the store owners were passionate about their products. Would go again, rain or shine, in a flash. Thanks to Alex and... More

I am a bonafide chocoholic - it's true. Chocolate is always on my mind and usually always in my belly. My pre-hub surprised me with this tour for my birthday and we had a great time. The group we travelled with was intimate and our tour guide, Audrey, was so sweet, knowledgable and engaging. Each stop offered something different and... More

Overall, the experience was fine but not quite up to the hype; we had been very excited to take this tour based on the reviews and found it wanting. We stopped at 5 or 6 various stores/bakeries on an easy walk starting in China Town and moving through Kensington Market. While our tour guide was informative, it was fairly basic... More

Our tasty tour started at Soma on King where watching the "bean to bar" process immediately made me a believer. The patisseries, the Japanese convenience store were hidden gems along the way which make me want to revisit the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood the next time I am in the city. Odile Chocolat was a wonderful finish which I am still... More

I had a great time at the Tasty Tour, enjoying unique and delicious foods from several Kensington Market stores and learning about the city's food history. The store owners were not pushing product sales and instead were very friendly and took the time to tell us more about their story and that of the foods they prepare. Our guide Audrey... More

We did a tour last weekend and it was great. I thought it was going to be 'basic' desserts and only cupcakes but we went to different cultural bakeries and it was so awesome! Alex was our tour guide and he was friendly and informative. Really enjoyed it.

I had a lovely time on the Tasty Tour with guide Audrey. She was very knowledgeable about the area and her craft. She had excellent suggestions to share with the group, and did very well engaging everyone by keeping the tour interactive. I enjoyed the variety of treats we were encouraged to sample and the support for local businesses in... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
