I highly recommend taking a tour to see all the little shops Toronto has to offer. Our tour guild (Alex) was very knowledgeable and patient as we took out time figuring what we wanted to buy at the shops. The shop owners were also really nice and took their time explaining what they do. Overall this was a great tour... More

This walking trip offered just enough sweets and walking to help pace your chocolate appetite. I start the tour with a sweet tooth and ended as a connoisseur of cocoa. Lots of treats to sample and purchase at reasonable price. Plus, the walking from shop to shop offers King St tour of Toronto. I learned initimate things about the neighbourhood... More

August 2015 myself and my Pampered Chef Family did the Sweet Tour (2 hrs) in Kensington market and WOW! Our awesome guide was Alex who was very patient with us as we whipped our wallets out at each stop to shop and waited with a smile on his face while we all purchased popcorn! He was very knowledgeable and the... More

My boyfriend and I took his cousins (two girls ages 8 and 11) on the chocolate tour when they were visiting Toronto. Audrey was our guide and she did a fantastic job. It was very interesting to learn about the chocolate-making process and to taste some of the different types of chocolate that the stores had available. It was definitely... More

It was Judy's first time hosting a tour and she did such a great job you would have thought she has been doing this for years. The tour covers sweets from a variety of cultures. Will definitely revisit the Ding Dong Bakery on my next visit to Toronto. Their prices are insanely cheap and their baked goods are huge.

This 2 hour walking and tasting tour was amazing. Thank you Allie for being an informative and enthusiastic guide. Thank you for guiding us to some hidden treasures in the city. I will definitely visit them all again. If you love sweet treats and walking, this is definitely a tour you'll want to take!

This was my second time in the neighbourhood on this tour, and third tasty tours tour in total, and it is still one of my top suggestions for a "thing to do" in the City. Originally a Torontonian, and now an Expat, I came back to the city and wanted to introduce some friends to Kensington market. The tour criss-crosses... More

We had great conversation as a group, and visiting all the chocolatiers, cafes and bakeries was a fun experience! We got to sample and try chocolate from different soils, while learning more about the history of chocolate and how it is carefully prepared and stored. In order to really take advantage of this experience, be ready to buy interesting treats... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
