I've lived in Toronto for my entire life -- but had not known a thing about the great eating in Leslieville until "Chef Scott" took us around and gave us an inside scoop on where the truly great culinary treasures are found. We learned a lot of history about the area as well. This is a great way to spend... More

Enjoyed my first culinary tour with Ian as my guide in the St Lawrence Market. Our group was small but a lovely size to get to meet new and interesting people (not to mention try new foods)... the walking tour around the market was phenomenal, there really is a lot of history in Toronto and Ian was a great commentator... Our group of highschool girlfriends did the Culinary Brunch Tour as part of our weekend discovering Toronto. The tour was the perfect way to end our terrific weekend. Kevin was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable, fun and he knows food!!! The weather was perfect - so walking around King and Queen West and eating as we went was... More

Our guide was Ian (a chef ) . He was very informative and supplied lots of historical data. We first stop was for an Australian pie. Next stop was for some Raw Horse Meat. Some of our group were skittish about eating raw horse meat. Priest Burgers for poutine with duck and fries which was excellent. Gastopub stop was for... More

When we planned our honeymoon we immediately thought of including two things we love... hockey and great food. We wanted to experience the culture of Toronto and learn about this beautiful city. While looking for things to do while we visited, we stumbled across the Culinary Adventure Company. The description states to come with an appetite. Boy is that the... More

This is the best tour I've ever taken and Chef Scott was a master guide through one neighborhood of Toronto. The 4 hour walking tour began with a brief introduction then shortly after 11am we began with coffee & cookies. Then onward thru middle eastern food, bakery, sustainable seafood & butcher, some wine, finishing with local premium ice cream. What... More

Four of us, old friends, booked the Leslieville tour based on good reviews on the net. We didn't know much about the area, though we've all lived in Toronto. It was terrific! Each food stop was excellent in its own way, and it was great to hear the stories of the neighbourhood buildings, people, and proprietors as well as Chef's... More

What a great variety of restaurants/food (thought it might just be Greek food) - so got interesting historical background as well as lots of delicious food. Kevin was one of the best guides we've ever had - very knowledgeable and passionate about food and Toronto. We had a delightful time talking about food/Toronto/travel. We would recommend this to anyone. (and... More

My husband and I booked the St. Lawrence and the Old Town food tour. Ian was our chef guide and did an excellent job of showing us around the Old Town with lovely historical notes and anecdotes. We then did our samplings at St. Lawrence Market. The Portuguese custard tarts were my favorite! As newcomers to Toronto he gave us... More

There was 6 in our party, and we met Kevin our tour guide in front of Marvel coffee company for our Greektown Culinary Adventure Tour. We started with our choice of coffee at of course the Marvel Coffee Company, with great choices on the menu. We proceeded with Chinese dumplings, then to Turkish assorted pizza, then a taste of a... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
