I am a local to Toronto and attended the King and Queen West tour with a friend. Our small group first gathered in front of the first destination at 11am for a little morning pick me up. We then proceeded on a casual paced tour of the area while heading toward our next location. Our guide, Kevin, was knowledgeable and... More

This was my first trip with the Culinary Adventure Company and looking forward to another tomorrow. It was a very unique experience combining a bit of exercise with some very good food. The setting is very special and the paddle back to the city in darkness with Frank Sinatra singing in the background was very special. I would definitely recommend... More

Kevin, Patrick & Tyler the Canoe-master guided us on a wonderful mini-tour of the Toronto Islands and provided a VERY delicious dinner featuring Canadian produce. We traveled 6 hours from Michigan and booked a vacation just to experience this trip. It was worth EVERY mile. You are going to get a small workout on the canoe trip, but, there are... More

Chef Scott was a great host, knowledgeable, fun and made great recommendations. We hit some great spots on Ossining and will definitely go back for more. Thanks Scott!

I attended the King and Queen West tour in July with a friend of mine. I don't want to give away any of the great treats that were provided at the many quality stops, but bacon, chocolate, nutella, caesars and lobster were all involved. The tour guide was extremely friendly and conversational and the amount of food provided put our... More

My friends and I had an incredible experience when we joined the Escape the City Canoe Paddle & Dining adventure. The evening started with a canoe ride to Toronto Island Park, we were among fellows kayakers, boaters and there were a few planes that flew overhead, it was exhilarating! Once we got to the Island, we had 45 minutes to... More

We have done food tours in other cities and enjoyed them. This was no exception. This time, however, our tour was led by one of the owners, who is a chef. He was so informative and easy going. And, our tour was a full 4 hours of lots of good food, walking the neighborhood, and getting to know the other... More

We didn't find out about this tour until our last day. I would recommend doing the tour up front as Kevin provided awesome recommendations. We started off with meat pies (I had zucchini) at Kanga's, then off to Ravi's Soups - also excellent. We went to the Thursday market and had fresh sorbet and gelato from an awesome food truck,... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
