I LOVE Hanlan's Point so much I started my business renting beach chairs and umbrella's 13 years ago. I love my office :-) I love the eclectic mixture of people and the fact people who go there are generally happy...as it's the one place they WANT to be..away from the worries and complexities of life. I love the fact people... More

quite dirty, what a difference after the central island; turns out most visitors are those "pride" people whose bihaviour we found unacceptable do not go there unless you belong to that "proud" community

I am only basing this on weekend visits. I've heard it is quieter here on weekdays. There are not a lot of choices if you want spend a day at a beach that you can take a subway to, so I've been here a few times with friends. The park is nice, with a food stand where you can get... More

I ordered an umbrella for my girlfriends and I around 1:30 when we first arrived at the gorgeous nude beach. The 2 young guys took our order, but then completely denied us service. They ignored us, gave us the "runaround" so to speak, kept saying there were still people in front of us, we were frustrated but being patient since... More

This beach is a little walk from the ferry drop off. The swimming is mediocre: the sand in the water is pebbly and the water is not crystal clear. The people are friendly and mostly nude. They are respectful and relaxed. There is nothing skeevy or disquieting about their nakedness and after a time even non experienced nudists may feel... More

This had been my first time at this beach. When in Rome, do as the Romans do and all that so of course I "opted" out of my clothes like 90% of the people there that day. This was a great beach to visit, it was packed yet very quiet and respectful. No football tossing jocks strutting their prowess, no... More

I walked from Centre Island to Hanlan's Point via the Lighthouse and Trout Pond - nice seats at the latter. To be honest it isn't the most scenic walk on the island but very pleasant and most people are attracted if that is the right word by the 'clothing optional' beach here. An average kind of beach but I didn't... More

Exploring the islands this weekend we walk west towards Hanlan's island to check out the historic Gibraltar point lighthouse. During Doors Open, you are allows to climb to the top of the historic structure (which is rumoured to be haunted). Once we saw the lighthouse, we checked out the ArtSpace at Gibraltar Point. This communal art community houses artist of... More

I have been coming to this beach since the summer of 2003 and always try to make it AT LEAST once a year. What more can I say except that it is simply the best?!!!

I am a big fan of clothing optional beaches having been to dozens around the world; from L'espiguette in the South of France, Zipolite in Oaxaca Mexico, to Samurai beach in Australia and closer, here in BC, the famous ( or infamous! ) Wreck beach. But Hanlan's point is special; minutes from the center of a huge city, you feel... More
