Brilliant exhibition of the Group of Seven artists and a first class contemporary tour with Diana Lu - an informative, passionate and all round great curator.

While I liked many of the exhibits, I was underwhelmed and expected more. The exterior is the least impressive Gehry design I have seen. The interior is largely the same exhibits as before. The restaurant is overpriced.

This gallery is very much worth the visit for both the art (best collection of Canadian art) as well as the buildings architecture. The Italian gallery with its warm wood paneling and view of the city. Get lost in the spiral staircase that will take you to the modern art collection. If you go there early you can even play... Spent half a day here. Peaceful place to visit, see all the beautiful artworks, visit the shop and restaurant. Beautiful worldwide collection and a superb renovation to the gallery

The AGO is a great place to go with friends. The exhibits are not overly crowded, the gallery shop has great present/gift ideas and FRANK restaurant is amazing. Worth the trip. Plan on spending a few hours.

Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei's exhibition will be at the AGO in August, 2013. They were preparing for this big exhibit when we were there in February. Make sure before you go that they are showing work that you are interested in. The shop was disappointing. It had everything that every other museum shop has.

I think they have it together pretty well. I have no criticisms except that they must watch their price point to ensure they don't get too expensive. We saw early Renaissance exhibit there and then enjoyed a couple of other areas.

The fact that this world class museum is free in on a Wednesday evening is one of the highlights of visiting Toronto. Both the permanent exhibitions and the temporary shows are excellent and it should be on every visitors list. The museum itself is beautifully designed and seeing 'The Massacre of the Innocents' in person was very special.

I am an art museum junkie so perhaps this isn't fair since I am comparing the AGO to some of the best in the world. The building is very interesting but the collection is randomly arranged and the signage is terrible. A first trip to the museum without taking the tour or speaking with the docents (who are extremely helpful... More

Interesting architecture as well as vistas of the city. Special exhibitions are really good. Enjoyed the Patti Smith and Janet Cardiff displays. You would need at least 1 day to see everything, so I only concentrated on a few things. Downstairs Cafe is very pleasantly priced.
