We went on the Chinatown and Kensington market tour with Mike. Very enjoyable, got a lot of interesting historical facts! We found a great tea store on our walk. Kensington is really a neighborhood full of stores and restaurants that we would have never found on our own! When we visit again we will take book another tour with them.

I did the Beer makes History tour last night with Jason as our guide. I recently moved to Toronto and as it happens also like beer so thought this tour would be an excellent way for me to bone up on some history whilst enjoying a beverage or 2. I wasn't disappointed! I especially liked the way Jason delivered his... More

A group of girlfriends and I took a private walking tour a couple of weeks ago to find out more about Kensington Market and Chinatown. Our guide, Jackie, was incredibly knowledgeable about both areas of Toronto. She gave some really interesting information about the history of the areas and how they came to be what they are today. She took... More

Awesome tour! Did a customized beer walking tour in old TO for my husbands birthday. Jason was so knowledgable and had a true passion for the city. Definitely worth every penny! Already lining up my next urban adventure for a girls night!!

We did the bacon tour today with Mike who was extremely knowledgable about all aspects of Toronto life and provided a fun filled afternoon. We ate a lot of delicious pork including some Canadian classics like poutine and peameal bacon. We got to see some great local neighborhoods, a mini graffiti art tour as well as the oldest church and... More

I love visiting new places and taking walking tours to learn more about the history of the city and it's people - this was a perfect day taking the walking tour of Chinatown and Kensington Market and Jason was a very informative guide to share the love of his city with us. Jason is very knowledgeable about graffiti art so... More

Awesome time on both these tours. We had James as our guide for the Kensington Market/Chinatown tour. Very informative, interesting, and James gave suggestions of places to stop and eat. Teo was our guide for the beer tour. Also very informative and learned bits of history. Both James and Teo are great guides. Both tours were a lot of fun... More

We found Urban adventures on Facebook and have always had luck so we booked with the the walking trip. We toured Chinatown and the Kensington Market. Mike was a terrific guide. Saw parts of Toronto that we never would have. The murals in Chinatown were a treat to see. We stopped in Kensington Market for taste of great bagels. All... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
