We're in Toronto for our honeymoon & I surprised my husband with this afternoon walking(/drinking) tour of Toronto's pubs and the Distillery District. Our tourguide Mike was a font of knowledge on all things Canadian, and a trained comedian to boot. Great experience, highly recommend it!

We did the power politics etc tour with Jackie in August. It was a great way to familiarise with the city and learn about things you wouldn't otherwise discover on your city break.also did the death, disease and destruction interesting but not quite so easy to follow or entertaining as the power one - which is a must!

Took two tours this Tuesday with tim from Tourguys. Took the City tour as well as the Dark City Tour and you learn very interesting details. They were both very interesting and just the good duration! Even if there was a cost I would recommend, a must see!

My boyfriend and I took the Power, Politics, and The Path tour for our first full day in Toronto. The tour was easy to find in Union station, and it didn't feel like 90 minutes at all! Tim gave a solid overview of some of the main downtown Toronto highlights. He was informative and I left knowing a few interesting... More

Thanks for your review! Your point about wishing the group was smaller and getting a more personal tour is understandable, but with our free public tours, we aren't able to offer that in a way that can sustain a business or be worthwhile for the guides who are working for tips as was the case with the tour you took.... I joined the Toronto South Core and Waterfront tours guided by Fenny. Had a fun time and learnt a lot of things about the city, its culture, people and history. When I first came, Toronto was just another city. After these tours, I feel connected to this city and want to spend more time there. There are so many interesting... More

My wife and I have been to Toronto many times, but we have never taken a tour of the city. We have done many free walking tours in Europe and other countries, so we decided to spend a 2.5 hours with Neil on a Dark History tour of Toronto. And we were glad we did. Neil was a fantastic tour... More

I am a Toronto born girl, and let me tell you, I learned a LOT about Toronto's dark history on this tour. Thanks Tim, for leading this really interesting tour. No wonder your morning group members (a different tour) came back to do this tour with you in the afternoon. You make history come alive. You also take the dark... More

Did both the South Core and Waterfront Tours with Fenny through Tour Guys. She was a great guide, very friendly and made the walking tours a lot of fun! As a Canadian, I'd recommend the Waterfront tour over the South Core just because it was more about the city itself and less about Canada and its sport teams/symbols!

Greetings! Me and my family visited toronto this summer and hadn't experienced the city yet; that's why we hoped a guided tour would give us a rough overview about this place. Our expectations we're exceeded dramatically when we had the chance to enjoy both the Dark Stories and the Waterfront tour with our guide TIM. He has such a big... More

Really terrific. Julian took us on both tours, which cover financial district in AM and old town history of crime, disease, and death in the PM. I would recommend doing both as it gives a nice point and counterpoint to perspectives about Toronto. Julian has detailed knowledge of the subject matter of the tour and is not afraid to inject... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
