I did the Toronto graffiti tour with Jason that took us around the Queen Street West neighbourhood and along Graffiti Alley. Jason was very knowledgeable and gave a great overview of local graffiti and street art culture using the pieces we saw on the tour. I would recommend this tour for any Torontonian or visitor interested in this dynamic art... More

I was lucky enough to meet Julian on a very hot day for this tour. Toronto really does have a dark underbelly and he led me through some hidden alleys, and shared many facts that totally changed my view of what this great city is literally built on. So much happens and does happen behind the scenes here. I would... More

I've done 3 of the tours, Downtown Toronto with Julian, South Core with with Jackie, and the Waterfront (unfortunately I don't remember the name of the guide but he was from Adelaide and also great). It didn't matter if there were 2 people or 20, the guides were always enthusiastically sharing interesting facts, tips and stories. And I got the... More

Cailee was very informative with a wide breadth of knowledge of Toronto. This was the first visit to Toronto for me and my husband and after taking this walking tour we both felt we had a better feel and felt more at ease with navigating the city. Loved her enthusiasm and willingness to answer any questions regarding the highlights of... More

At the beginning of this tour our guide, Jason, asked us to rate our feelings about graffiti with a thumbs up, down or in between if we consider it an urban blight. I gave an unquestionable thumbs down. By the end of the tour I learned how complex an issue it is and if asked now would give a thumbs... More

Tim took us on a fabulous 1 1/2 hour tour of Toronto. He was informative and engaging. I learned a lot about the city. He was eager to answer any type of question. I would have been happy even if it wasn't free. Highly recommend it.

We went on the Graffiti Tour of Graffiti Alley and the Queen Street West area recently, which was led by the excellent and knowledgeable Jason. The tour lasted for two hours and was a fun way to spend 2 hours on a Saturday afternoon learning about an art and a part of Toronto that you might not know much about.... More

This was the first time that I took advantage of a free walking tour as a tourist in a for me foreign city (Toronto). Unfortunetaly, I can't remember my guide's name. She was super nice and knew a lot of interesting things to keep me interested in Toronto's Waterfront. I highly recommend to everybody to try these walking tours. It's... More

A great way to see "hidden" parts of toronto and learn about street art. The guides were great story tellers and engaged everyone on the journey. A tour for people of all backgrounds and understanding. We had a great crew of tourists from Toronto and around the world. Get on board and have a great afternoon of art !

We went on this walking tour with Neil today and had a fantastic time. Neil was incredible knowledgable and we had a great time. The tour lasted just about and hour and half which was a good amount of time and there breaks along the way.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
