What a great experience! I came to pick out my engagement ring with my sister, upon my fiancée's request (which I was very excited about). I picked 3, and they got them on record to let him know. It was like I was in a museum and the staff were so helpful, patient, and passionate. My partner came to pick... More

We were amazed at the level of service provided by Cynthia. There was no pressure to buy anything; she took her time (I was at the shop 3x and brought my girlfriend with me the last time before we finally chose the item we wanted) and showed us a lot of different and amazing products. The diversity and beauty of... More

This was the only antique store I could find on my recent visit to downtown Toronto, but what a find it was. Collectibles, fine jewelry, silver, dishes, china, figures, etc....there is so much packed into this second story shop. Watch for the signs on the street just out front of the location. It is clearly marked, but you do have... More

Antiques and collectables of every description. It would take hours to go through it all. My daughter got her wedding band there. I have bought silver baby cups. There is literally everything old to be had.

To keep a long story short, I had trouble trusting just any jeweler with my diamond. I needed to make a custom band for my fiancee, but didn't know where to go. After some open source research, I found Cynthia Findlay online, read the reviews, and decided to meet her in person. Super professional and friendly, my fiancee and I... More

Cynthia and her team were extremely helpful. They provided excellent customer service during every interaction I had with them. My situation was a bit unique as I lived overseas and my fiance lived out of town, and we were only going to be in Toronto for a couple of days. Cynthia and team spent hours on the phone patiently explaining... More

I had an incredible experience purchasing my engagement ring through Cynthia Findlay antique. Catherine, the associate who helped with the ring selection process immediately felt like a friend and was very patient as I tried on nearly everything in the store. Cynthia was also lovely and told me about the history and details of my ring. They also went above... More

My fiancé chose my ring at Cynthia Findlay, and I could never have hoped for a better ring! He visited the store on his own on numerous occasions where the staff patiently helped him narrow the selection down to my perfect ring! He couldn't believe the amazing selection or the fantastic value for beautiful estate pieces. He was never rushed... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
