We are not the outdoors type but, frankly, there isn't that much to do in Timmins on the weekend, so we decided to get in the car for a drive and head to Kettle Lakes Park. The drive is beautiful and I actually saw both a moose AND a young bear (older than a cub but not quite an adult)... More

Great camping. Many facilities and close to town for those extras. Swimming, hiking, berry picking and bird watching. Even some fishing.

We have camped at Kettle Lakes for almost 25 yrs , including seasonal spots. We can actually say our children saw many summers camping at this Provincial Park. The lots are bigger in the non-electric sites, however if you need electric, stay in the Island Lake campground. Their programs have gotten smaller over the years due to government cutbacks but... A short drive (30 minutes) from downtown Timmins, this provincial park offers multiple lakes and beaches, swimming, a playground for children and nature. Hiking, biking and snowshoeing. The lakes are a bit small for canoeing, but fun for just a short paddle with children.

No that's not a typo - the bike trails at Kettle Lakes are great for snowshoeing too. It's a nice peaceful hike through the jack pine forest and a welcome change from the community dog park also known as Hersey Lake. There are three loops and if you are lucky, someone else has broken the trail so it's not too... More

We camped here for 2 nights on our big camping trip around Ontario. We were on site 135 and it is very private but probably the furthest from the park entrance. The showers were Ok but kept going from warm to cold. We drove around the whole park and stopped for a picnic and swim at Point Lake. It's a... More

As many others have said, the scenery is fantastic, the lakes are amazing and if u love tent camping, you wont be disappointed. But if you're the rv type, dont expect much because its just not that kinda park. You'll get a 30amp connection and thats about it. No water hookup, sewer, pullthru, level pads etc. The comfort station is typical... More

Very nice place to go camping. The lakes are beautiful. Not too far from Timmins but still a nice place to go and get away. I go there every summer.

I don't ever miss going to Slab Lake with my family. I don't get home very often, but this is one stop I always love. I guess last summer was a little dry because Slab seemed a little dry and barren.
