The actors, from the First Nations encampment to the fort itself are great. The entire place is very well maintained and you can access everything from lookouts to the shops to the farms. If you have kids, they'll love being able to go right up to a lot of the animals in the farm area. There is a brand new... More

Visiting Fort William is like stepping back into the past. It's a living history outdoor museum. We spent a whole day there and thoroughly enjoyed it. The people who work there are dressed in period costumes and assume the identities of historical figures who lived in or around the fort. These folks stayed in character and offered interesting insights into... More

We had a great visit here, and I am not a history person at all! We went in September 2013, and had a great time! This isn't like any other 'attraction' I've attended. They take you down to the Fort, and immediately you are greeted by the "citizens" of the fort, who are in character from the early 1800's, and... More

The historicaal aspect of the park and what they show, takes you back to the time when Canada was being born as a nation and dipicts what we have eventually become. A nation were we like to discover the willderness and travel by all means available.

We missed a lot of the action in that many demonstrations were not being run later in the season. We did, however have a 2 hour tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide and there were a few activiites being carried out. It was very interesting. "Fort" made us think of a military establishment, and we had seen several of those... More

I live in Thunder Bay so visit here mainly when I have out-of-town company. It never disappoints-lots to see and love how the interpreters are 'in character'.Lots of activities on special holidays and great food in the canteen!

It was REALLY hot the day we went so we kind of withered. That said, the peopl in character were very good and knowedgeable and they were very welcoming to the children and let them explore. We held more chickens a the farmyard than I care to remember! What fun for the children though, and great memories.

My only complaint is that we went after Labour Day and most of the activities/demonstrations are no longer available yet I believe we paid the same price as peak summer time.

I was afraid it would be a dull boring stop but Fort Williams was really good. We especially enjoyed visiting with the tin smith who was exceptionally knowledgable. All of the people dressed in costume did a good job staying in character and were very patient answering questions and letting us photograph them. The young cooper was also impressive as... More
