If you enjoy history - this is a MUST SEE! The park is well kept and the staff is fabulous! We kept trying to get them to break character - but they did not miss a beat! Easy to get swept back in time!

On numerous occasions I have visited this tourist attraction and found it eye opening to say the least. The Fort gives young and old alike, an opportunity to live life in the past and learn about the fur trade that helped make Canada what it is today. It is a living experience for entire school classes and visitor alike. It... More

The place to visit when in TBay. From the gift shop to the history presentation to the Fort itself, the experience is fantastic. The period costumes and the timing at the fort and the food at the fort must be experienced. For those who have not visited, you will not be disappointed.

Been years since I was there but it is worth the time. Takes the whole day but it so much fun and the people working there are really great actors.

We in Thunder Bay are lucky enough to have an historical centre right outside of our city. It is a recreation of a fur traders fort when this part of the country was first settled by voyageurs. The reinactments are marvellous and the canteen has delicious treats. The visitors centre is a wonderful setting for a conference or a wedding.... More

Old Fort William as we call it is one thing the government did right. Every aspect of the visit is something people will remember . The people who work at the fort don't just tell visitors about history, they show us what it was like to live in the era of the fur trade and encourage interaction . Fort William... More

This is one of the best historic recreations I have ever seen! I have traveled all over North America, Europe and the Caribbean and this park is at the top of the list. All the employees are is character for the early 1800's. You can watch them build barrels, canoe's or shoe a horse. There is a kitchen you can... More

My wife and two girls, (7 & 4) recently visited Fort William Historic Park for a day. It had been years since I visited the park as a child and I wanted my kids to experience it. We went on a Friday afternoon before Canadian schools had been let out for the summer and it was a very enjoyable experience... More
