We're not history buffs by any means which makes this even more special to see a living history museum. It really brings it to life for the kids and us. Great experience and the actors were lively and engaging. A definite must see and worthwhile if you are in the area.

I have been to this museum twice now, both visits were brilliant, it is great to see all the history. All the reinactors are brilliant and very true to character, everyone you see in the different areas are full of information and will answer any question you have. The amount of time you spend here depends on how well you... More

Everyone should visit this step back in time. We love this types of experience and found it quite good. Some of the reinactors were better than others, with staying in character, but they were good. It was very cool to see some of the older ones teaching the younger the trades they demonstrated. It is quite large, a full recreation... More

I love history and this reenactment and rebuilt of the historical Ft William is great...I have seen many and this is in the top three...the hosts of each building are very knowledgeable and answered every question I had...The buildings are a true story of past history and how life was then...the hardships they endured...This one is mostly about fur trading... We visited about 25 years ago and had great memories from it and wanted the little kids to have the same memories. We were disappointed. We arrived when the opened and it seemed like they weren't prepared for the opening time. Exhibits were empty, didn't even know about the guided tour until on our way out. That's when we saw... More

We are seniors and I can see that children would really be excited about visiting here. We had a good guide and learned a lot. If you do not want to take the tour, there is a good film shown ahead of time. The tour is all outdoors so pick a nice day to go.

We attended a wedding reception at this location. It was an amazing venue and the setup was incredible. Staff were friendly and efficient and the meal was superb. We did not have adequate time to tour around the ample grounds but we will be back. This is truly worth a visit.

My husband and I brought our two toddlers to Fort William to see all the spring babies on the farm! The young students working at the time were so accommodating! Our farmer who was showing us the animals went out of her way to catch us two baby chicks for each of our toddlers to hold themselves!! She taught them... More
