I took my kids to Mount Mckay, we loved it!!! It was a very beautiful view of the city and lake superior. It only cost $5 to get in. We were going to hike up the mountain but forgot bug spray, definitely a must!!! We enjoyed it so much we went twice the second time we saw 2 bear cubs.... More

Don't listen to the other reviewers who bashed the place, but didn't bother paying $5 to actually see the view. You spent more than $5 gas driving there, what's bad about another $5? Driving takes you to a lookout halfway up the mountain, where there's a great view and a little shop for refreshments. If you want to go to... More

I visited the Mount Mckay with some friends and we had a really good time there, we had the opportunity to know about the aboriginal culture, enjoy the nature and the view of Thunder Bay from the top of the Mount!

What a view! You can see Thunder Bay, Sleeping Giant, and the whole valley. Well worth the trip. Besides, you can buy cheap gas at the gas station near by.

There is a $5 charge per car, but certainly worth that! Heavens a bag of chips $ a pop is just as expensive. The road is like any back country gravel road, it isn't fantastic, but we had no problems in our little car, just go slower and drive accordingly! The view is beautiful of both Thunderbay and the sleeping... More

After reading previous reviews I did not want to visit Mt McKay. Boy, good I went. Beautiful place, fabulous view. No garbage on the grounds, well kept area. Road to the top Not bad at all. If I have to compare road to Sleeping Giant provincial park and Mt Mckay, without the question road to Sleeping Giant is great disaster... More

We were here this past weekend. The view point appears to be only about halfway up the butte...can't really call this a mountain. You drive through the indian reservation to get to the entrance only to find out they charge $5. Needless to say, we didn't pay....

This is a great free way to over see all of Thunder Bay and get an idea of the size. This outlook isn't much to look at but the view is incredible. Apparently there is a trail you can hike to the top, but we could not locate a trailhead so we didn't make the climb up. Wish we had... More
