Great stage production with well-done sets and lighting. The theater was smaller than we expected, but we enjoyed the more intimate setting. We were impressed with the performers. They were top-notch!

This is a lovely old theatre and the seats are comfortable enough, but in row AA (the first) there was not enough room for my legs and knees. Otherwise, it was fantastic! Loved seeing into the orchestra pit and seeing every expression on every actor's face. The show was Man of La Mancha, and it was a super great production.... More

Beth and I fell under the spell of the Man from La Mancha two nights ago. It was everything we expected and more. The music was phenomenal and the acting was bang on. The character development was convincing and heartbreaking. It was a dark play - but such was the nature of the content! The three main characters easily drew... More

We learned long ago not to book seats close to the front at the Avon. But was long as you're in row J and back you can probably get a good view. The balcony is a better bet. The Avon stage does lend itself to elaborate and interesting set designs. This year it's worth seeing Hay Fever just for the... More

My daughter had back surgery months after we purchased our tickets. As soon as we walked in the usher was concerned and modified our seating arrangement to accommodate her limited mobility.

In terms of being able to hear the actors, this theatre is far superior to the Festival theatre. Just one suggestion. If there is going to be a lot of music involved, avoid sitting near the front on the sides: you get blasted by the speakers. We were at the fabulous Hay Fever this evening, in row DD on the... More

The overall atmosphere at the Avon Theater is pleasant and the seats are very comfy. To give you an idea of its size, capacity is a littler over a thousand patrons and there are both a main floor and balcony. There is also a bright and cheery gift store which sells items from all of the season's productions. Restrooms on... More

We have been to this theatre several times and have never been disappointed. The sightlines are good, seats are comfortable, the stage is usually done up very nicely. We saw Man of Lamoncha this year and it was exceptional. The stage design is magnificent, and the play and acting were terrific. If you are seeing it I would suggest reading... More

You could walk by the Avon Theatre and never notice it; very bland exterior. But inside -- on the main floor, especially -- it is gorgeous. Beautiful in all the aspects you expect of a theatre anywhere in the world. We saw Man of LaMancha which was fabulous but every experience we have had at this theatre (over the past... More
