small but nice

It isn't big but it has beautiful art to look at and it is on the boardwalk. I enjoyed the temporary showcase but also the permanent collection.

There was a show on celebrating the 40th anniversary of the gallery that showed the breadth and variety of the collection. Forty works starting with 18th century watercolours of Sault Saint Marie, group of seven artists and several paintings by Jack Bush and a variety of other Canadian artists like Bruno and Molly Boback and Emily Carr.

When we walked into the main gallery there was a painting on one wall that looked like a donut and in the centre of the room was a grang piano with several small pine trees hung upside down over the piano. We noticed red wires attached to some of the piano strings, but there was no written explanation about this... More

When we visited, much of the art gallery was devoted to some very modern art that I didn't personally care for. But there were also many charming paintings. Worth a stop if you're in the area with an hour to kill and you've seen the boardwalk and museums already.

It is always nice to see art through someone else's eyes. It worth the trip if you love art! Won't take up to much of your time. Enjoy

A nice collection of artwork from local and national artists. Had hoped for more Group of Seven works but they can't get it all. A little too heavy on local artists which while quaint, there are many well known local artists missing.

This is a quite small gallery. We were pleased with the group of seven pieces as well as other local artists. There was no admission as one of the rooms was closed while a new exhibit was being set up. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the collection on what has to be a fairly limited... More

We went to the Art Gallery expecting to see fine art . There is mostly local art which is very nice , but a little disappointing . Not one piece of art by an internationally known artist . Would have liked more variety in the art , fewer local scenery art pieces . Donations are accepted . The Gallery is... More

We enjoyed the Bondar exhibit and the high-school art too. The latter gave us pause to think. But I loved the photos by Dr. Bondar. The staff was very friendly and the gift shop was fun to browse around and we picked up a few nice cards and specialty buttons - my wife knits and found some buttons that were... More

Exhibits were okay, but could have been more. Place is good to visit if wanting to put in time for a bit while waiting for other things.
