We were seated in Coach 1 and each had a window seat cause they weren't sold out. Some nice lake and mountain views and the tressel bridges were breathtaking. The canyon is nice and clean and perfect for stretching the cramped legs. Ride back seemed longer and more uncomfortable.

We travelled in late August and expected more. The small gift shop at the station was "closed for renovations" when we were there. There were no mementos available on the train that we were able to see. The gift shop in Agawa Canyon was closed. NOT GOOD! The train leaves at 8:00 a.m. and it takes four hours to reach... More

You pick the train up shortly after coming across the International Bridge. Engines at both ends, new and clean cars and a dining car. The trip goes 114 miles to Agawa Canyon where you can hike and eat for 1.5 hours. You can take box lunches off the train to the picnic area or eat on the train. There are... More

Revisiting a train ride from my youth about 40 years later with our family of five. We got lucky as we were led to a car that didn't have reserved seating and we ended up being the only ones there! Very relaxing ride, well-catered if not a bit pricey. Nice lunch stop and great hikes in the canyon. The train... More

This is a very well put together trip. However, the park that they take you to is quite far and the train only tops out at about 35 MPH, so it takes a while to get there. I don't know if they could speed it up at all, but if they can, they should, because the length of the trip... More

You are on the train for 8 hours and only 1 and half hour at the canyon. Really wasn't much to see there. If you do go, take your own food. Very expensive if you eat on the train. On the positive side, very informative on the ride.

One glitch during train ride. Had to wait 40 minutes for another train to pass as they only have one track and two in other areas to allow for trains to pass. It took 40 minutes away from our time in the canyon as our time was was reduced to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Needed more time to explore... More

We booked only a week in advance for Aug. Train ride informative and historical. Park itself is beautiful. They have built 300 steps to a virwing platform overlooking the canyon. Trails are flat and easy to manage even for those with walking difficulties. Would say best time to take it would be end of Sept for the colours

The train was very comfortable. We enjoyed the trip to the canyon. The information given on the monitors was excellent and told the history of the area. It was hard to take photos as the train was travelling rather quickly and by the time the camera was ready, the view was gone. We did get stuck on a steep ascent... More
