We have seen advertising for the Agawa Canyon Train tour for years and had talked about going but this year the opportunity finally presented itself. I purchased the train tickets from home prior to arriving - by doing this you are taking a chance on the weather. When we picked up the tickets from the station the night before, others... More

Had a bad experience on Agawa Tour Train. Looking out at the beautiful scenery many times resulted in looking at plastic tar buckets and old train rails piled in garbage heaps. The dining car advertised mixed drinks but there were only a few beers and wine coolers. The brochure advertised "several" waterfalls - there was ONE. (There are 2 but... More

Nice trip to Northern Ontario. Train was comfortable and staff was friendly and knowledgeable. TV screens with commentary made it more interesting. 4 hours each way of trees, rock and lakes dotted with cottages. Train stopped in Canyon for 90 minutes with time to walk trails or climb to lookout. It's too bad the engine couldn't be silenced to enjoy... More

My wife and I took this excursion almost 40 years ago and I was interested in how it has stood the test of time. Unfortunately, not too well. Being a tourist attraction, presentation and value are everything. Regretfully the train was dirty outside, with Agawa Train Tour stickers peeling off the cars. The main locomotive hadn't seen a bath in... More

114 miles of trees, water and sky to look at, once you are at the canyon you are given about 1 .5 hours to walk around and stretch your legs on a number of trails. Lookout trail is a tough hike with 321 steps, but the view is pretty awesome. Once again, you board the train for the return back... More

It was a good experience, but it could be a bit boring at times when going through miles of trees very close to the train, you could get dizzy. However there are lots of beautiful scenery of lakes and surroundings . The people were very friendly and informative, the tv screens inside is a good idea, my recommendation is to... More

We took the train tour after reading an article about it in a travel magazine. The train was very clean and better outfitted than a regular passenger train. Service was friendly. The landscape and scenery was fantastic! They had video and audio commentary to bring your attention to landmarks and scenery. A very nice journey, especially if you love the... More

I think this summer was my fourth time to take this trip. It is a relaxing way to spend the day. I don't like the GPS generated comments as much as when they used to have the ladies provide commentary, but it is still very nice. The engine-mounted cameras help in providing time to get the camera ready for that... More

I wish I'd read the reviewer who mentioned the "tunnel of trees" before booking this trip. I thought that we'd have wonderful vistas to look at as we rode along for 4.5 hours each way. Instead, 95% of the time going one way, and maybe 90% of the time going the other, my view was of a dense forest of... More

The tour operators have covered all the bases to clean coaches, clean windows( so you can take photos through them) breakfast ready and waiting, camera on the front of the train so you can see what's coming, videos giving the history of the region, messages to remind you of the up coming view, a souvenir guide, knowledgable staff, they have...
