This is quite a trip---quite a long trip too! The trip is 4 hrs there an hour and half at the canyon and 4 hours back. You see loads of beautiful lakes along the way and the canyon has waterfalls. (July was not the optimal times to see the falls--not much flow.) In July you also see lots of biting... More

Bought the tour pkg that included the night before and the night after the train ride, at the Catalina Motel in Sault Ste Marie, ON. The motel stay, although at 1st glance did not look appealing, turned out to be just fine and even a bit quaint. The train tour was excellent, except do anticipate that on the return trip... More

You should have this on your bucket list if you are within a days travel from the Soo. It's very relaxing and enjoyable for a couple or a whole family. The scenery in the fall along Superior's eastern shore is breath taking. We particularly liked the view from some of the large trestles and the walk in the canyon was... More

I will start by saying that I have read the other reviews complaining or inferring that the fact that its a long ride is a detriment. Now considering this is in fact a tour TRAIN ride and not just a canyon visit, I don't understand the confusion. Yes the canyon is indeed beautiful and if you can make your way... More

We booked at a hotel across from the station and they purchased the tickets ahead of time. The train arrived at the station promptly and the boarding was very organized and well done. The train was clean and offered monitors to view the track and surrounding land as we were traveling. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was very... More

I was up early and very grumpy. I tried to sleep on the train because I was tired but I kept kicking my dad when trying to get comfy. Some of the scenery outside after a certain distance was beautiful. When we got to the Canyon, the scenery was amazing but there was one BIG problem. MOSQUITOS! For one thing,... More

It's a four hour ride up in a train not seeing much but bush and then return after the stop over at the canyon in less time but you are stuck in a train all that time. One is better off taking the highway north and have much better viewing of the country and lake superior with many nice stops... More

Took the kids yrs ago up to the canyon and back. Great way to see this area. It's an all day train ride with an hr and a half stop in the canyon.

My son and I had been wanting to ride the train for a long time. It is an all day attraction. The Train takes you on a scenic journey through the forests of Northern Canada. Then it drops you off at the Canyon park. You have 1 1/2 hours to stroll through the park and admire the beauty of two... More
