The riverview park and zoo has always been a family favorite. Even when our daughter came home from university, she wanted to visit. There is a splash pad, slides, a train ride (seasonal), the animals of course, and even a Frisbee golf course, and all of it is free. Ok the train costs a $2, I think. Well with a... More

This is the best zoo around. Everyone is welcome and it is free. The animals are well cared for and flourish in this zoo. When the ordinary person is scraping by to survive it is wonderful to find a place that parents can take their children and spend the whole day for no entrance fees or restaurant fees. You can... Absolutely free! Great zoo, kid and family friendly for people of all ages. Spend the day at the zoo. Bring a picnic lunch or in summer visit the snack bar. Open year round, free parking, variety of children sized playgrounds, splash pool in summer, train ride will cost you a toonie! Great for all ages. Check out Meet the Zookeeper... More

For a free zoo, it's great. We went the first week of October so I'm sure it's very different from the summer (eg no train, snack bar closed, no one at the desk, etc). We had money out for donations but didn't see anywhere to put it which is too bad. We thought there might be a box to drop... More

It's free! What more could you want? A cute little place to walk around. I mean, it's free, so you aren't going to see anything insane, but it's a cute day out.

The fact that this zoo is free... the work they do, the behind the scenes things that people just don't see or understand. To make a zoo like this free to the public... I hold them in the highest respect levels I have! High Five to you all! The kids park and splashpad added to it for an overall all... More

We took our two grandchildren last Saturday for a couple of hours. It still amazes me that it is FREE! The animals were out, there were a lot of visitors with the same idea as we had. I would highly recommend this zoo over traveling and paying somewhere else in the area. It's a mature space as far as the... More

This is a good place to bring kids and enjoy the property without being stung for cash. However, the high fences mean that there are no photographic opportunities and the signs warning cyclists to stick to the road means it's not particularly cycling friendly either, but what zoo is? There is also a lot of construction this summer and the... More

What a great place to spend the day! The trails have lots of shady spots and picnic areas. The train ride was lots of fun. Our family really enjoyed this trip and to finish off the day we used the splash pad and playground which is all included in the price...FREE! They do accept donations but not required. People of...
