Wonderful museum, lots of interactive things to do. We were there when it opened and had the entire 4th floor to ourselves. A little pricy, especially if you want to do any of the extras.

We visited the museum during a family vacation in April 2015. This was a great museum for our 3 year old granddaughter. She found many things that captured her attention and she loved the interactive areas where she could touch things rather than just look. Great place to take kids who love nature, animals, dinosaurs etc etc

The special exhibit they had during my visit, Animals Inside Out, was really fascinating. I learned a lot about geology and rocks and minerals while there. The workers are all knowledgeable as well.

Set in a beautiful building, it houses a variety of interesting and well thought-of, slightly 'old school' displays that are fun for adults and children. Some special exhibitions require additional payment (there was an excellent one about naturally occurring luminosity in plants and... More

It was the first museum my husband and I visited while in the capital. It was very interesting and educational for all ages. The only problem we encountered was the group of kids yelling and screaming and running around like a maniac. Of course the parents didn't do anything to stop the behaviour plus the kids were touching and climbing... More

Plenty to see like prehistoric creatures, arctic wildlife, minerals, etc. The actual building looked like a castle!

There are many exhibits to view. One of the most interesting facts that I heard, was that the building was reinforced with steel beams, a month before a major earthquake. This was most timely, as it probably saved the building and the contents.

One of my favourite museums in ottawa - you could easily spend a few days here and not see it all - the dinosaurs were my favourite, I guess I'm a kid at heart!
