The museum is a little small for the price, but my son really enjoyed the dinosaur exhibits. Overall, it was a fun afternoon visit. It is especially good for children.

The museum is pretty awesome overall, however, most of the other museums let teachers (as long as you can prove your teaching status) in for a discount or completely free, this museum charged me full price (27 dollars for one ticket to see the special exhibit) - a little pricey for such a small museum.

The museum is always a hit with the kids, but some of the exhibits are a little stale. It's worth keeping an eye out for the special exhibitions.

The geological area was my fav, but the zoological area is great for the whole family. The bioluminescent display didn't do much for me, but others in my family thought it was really great. Also.. New fun fact on this visit.. The building was used as Canada's Parliament when the "regular" ones burned down and were being rebuilt.

Take your kids and give yourself a lot of time. There's so much to see and do for your kids here. They will learn so much!! We went while they had the bio luminescent display on and my kids loved this so much!

Glad that you and your kids enjoyed your visit! Hope you will come again and explore further. All of our galleries are designed to offer different levels of information and interaction - so you can pop through quickly marvelling at the dioramas, skeletons and weird things on display, or take time to delve into the specifics of each of our... We couldn't make it through the whole museum, but really enjoyed what we saw. We are still making bird calls at each other (this was our favorite exhibit). I am not sure the "special" exhibits are worth paying extra for -- we thought the free movie in the upstairs area of the pre-historic section was far better than the 3-D... More

Thanks for the comments - we're really pleased that you enjoyed your time at the museum, especially the Bird Gallery...tweet, tweet! There is certainly plenty to see and the museum is geared to engage kids as well as adults. In case you return, the feature in the 3D theatre changes about every 6 months. It's a pleasant break from being... More

We (two adults) re-visited this museum, partly because the renovations are finished and partly for the bioluminescence exhibit. That exhibit was very disappointing for us. We probably had the wrong expectations, but we expected a few more living examples of bioluminescence; there were only two. The rest of the exhibit is a LOT of reading with some large models of... Thank you for your review. We always appreciate receiving feedback and we're glad that you really enjoyed the birds and mammals galleries. We're sorry for your disappointment in the bioluminescence exhibit. The live specimens include flashlight fish, bioluminescent mushrooms, a fluorescent scorpion, fluorescent coral tank, fluorescent plants, and we'll be adding more. As at least 80% of bioluminescence occurs in... More

Went with a three-generation family group of 11, ages 9-82, and everyone found cool stuff to see. The bird exhibit and the mammal exhibit got particular attention. We spent over 3 hours, but the adults could easily have wandered longer. Highly recommended.

A wonderful museum although a little pricey for a large group. We were a family of older teens and adults. Not a price break for a group like us. 6 people to see the museum and special exhibit was a little over $130.00

Thank you for your review. We're glad that you liked our museum. In terms of admission fees, they are quite standard and comparable with most major North American museums. We do offer free hours on Thursdays from 5-8 pm which allows free access to most of our exhibitions and activities (except for certain big international shows, such as Creatures of... More
