For a break from an active day this was a reasonable tour of Ottawa and Gatineau by the water. I would suggest sitting on the right hand side and near the back as the narrator and the speakers at the from were rather loud. There were some interesting facts and it's a unique view from the water but it's not... More

We got on from the Hull Marina which I HIGHLY recommend as it was much less crowded than the one in Ottawa. The boat picks people up from each marina and sets off on the cruise. It cost $25 for adults and $22 for seniors. Not sure about the cost for children but it is less than adult/senior tickets. The... More

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours on the Ottawa River learning some of the unique places and history of the area. There are several boat rides a day, so you will have plenty to choose from. The guides are helpful and friendly. However, I asked where to sit to take the best pictures. I was told “anywhere.”... More

We enjoyed a trip along the Rideau Canal in unusally warm Autumn Sunshine. This allowed us to sit outside and enjoy the sights along the canal and the Autumn sunshine The commentary was both entertaining and informative but I can imagine not all would enjoy the jokey relaxed style. Whilst there no particularly spectacular sights along the route there are... More

We enjoyed a trip along the Rideau Canal today. The commentary by Rochelle was both entertaining and informative. There are also some good photo opportunities along the way especially with Autumn Colours right now. We would recommend this 1hr cruise as a great introduction into this UNESCO world heritage site.

This is a great way to see the sites along the Ottawa River, the guides are very knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions. The boat is well equipped with snacks and bathrooms. You can get a combined tour bus tickets too.

Ottawa is one city that is best viewed from the water. With only a couple of days to see the city, we found this tour packed with information yet very relaxing. The boat makes a loop from the mouth of Rideau Canal then across to Quebec side of the river as it goes upstream to Victoria Island and across towards... More

Ignore all the complaints and just find the Bytown Museum right next to the Ottawa locks right where the Rideau river starts. Or start where Wellington crosses the Rideau river and walk down the west steps to the Bytown Museum near the lower locks and keep on down tje hill you will see a ramp and 1-1/2 hour pretrip they... Skip the double decker bus and hop on one of these great boats. The guide was very knowledgable and understandable. The embassies and government homes were more visible from the water. The falls were beautiful and the skyline from the river breathtaking. A must when visiting Ottawa !

We toured the Rideau River this past weekend. The weather was cool but the boat was warm. The guide presented the history of Ottawa and Gatineau very well. She knew her presentation and it was very informative. There is a nice viewing area on the upper deck. There is a snack bar with limited offerings including hot coffee, hot tea,... More
