When I visited, the peonies were in full bloom and stunning. My eyes, and nose and camera were very busy walking through their ranks in this beautiful setting. It was a pleasure to sit and enjoy them and I met a lovely woman sitting contemplating many hours spent there with her husband before he passed away. This might seem sad... More

We visited here with our 15 month old. She loved it and we spend a long time looking at the various animals - cows, sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, chickens, donkey, alpaca and pigs - which were all really close up, calm and friendly. There is also a great play park for kids and various activities for older kids around the... More

Great place to take the kids to see farm animals on an actual farm. Some good interior displays and interactive demonstrations (eg. butter or ice cream making) through the summer.

Well, as an Ottawa resident, I've been to this farm loads of times. It does get a bit boring after 13 visits but it's great for tourists with kids.

Perfect place to go with the kids - and free ! Tons of child friendly farm-type activities. And absolutely do not miss the Ornamental Garden.. All paid for by the Canadian taxpayer !

i use to enjoy the gardens but now the buss #3 is not passing by and it is too far for a senior to walk to the gardens. Do you have a bass for next season that will provide easy access to the gardens?

This is a wonderful location to bring friends and family, especially children. There is lots to see and do. Cow are being milked, farm animals fed etc. It is a fun place for one and all but even more so for 'city folk.' A delighful attraction right in Ottawa. Come and see for yourself.

The Experimental Farm gives visitors the vision of a farm that we all want to have: It presents animals that are, for the most part, content and well-treated. In that respect, of course, it is a mirage, since most "farm" animals are subjected to "factory" conditions. (I do, however, agree with a previous reviewer that some animals are not given... More

I didn't notice anywhere to buy food. (Sorry if I missed it.) Don't expect to eat lunch there. If you're coming from downtown Ottawa, make sure to follow the canal. It's a beautiful drive. I don't think that I would have come if I didn't have kids with me. Regardless, both adults and kids will hopefully gain an appreciation of... More
