This is a beautiful residence. Being a host to official functions not everything is viewable. Slightly more modern than I would've expected.

If you ever get invited, don't pass this up The staff are courteous and helpful. The entire event was top-notch! Beautiful setting and the Governor General, David Johnston was very engaged and made great efforts to welcome many of the participants personally and took the time to speak to anyone who introduces themselves.

We walked to Rideau Hall via Sussex Avenue on a lovely fall day. It was worth the walk there. There are plaques by the trees indicating who they had been planted by - heads of state for various countries. We did not do an inside tour, but thoroughly enjoyed walking around the grounds.

historic plaques throughout the park area, which were very interesting . Cricket matches, family events, teddy bears picnics and movies in the summer evenings. you can take a picnic, walk play baseball, throw Frisbees or just sit and enjoy the beautiful grounds . A people place despite the fact that it is an important and private residence for the Queens... More

we arrived off the site seeing bus in the morning. Due to an event that was ongoing we could only see the grounds but they were very well presented. Better info at the gate may have stopped us visiting the grounds and we may have seen the house later

Booked a tour to see Rideau Hall. We met at the fountain out front and our guide met us right on time. He was very good and knew the answers to all the questions he was asked. He took us through a few rooms and explained the history of the hall and what the rooms were and are used for.... More

We had an enjoyable visit and tour of this significant residence in Ottawa. Very informative lecture packed in a 45 minute tour. Compared to other similar residences, this property is on the simple but elegant side. Of course who does not like the Tent Room, my favorite of all? If you have enough time, check the trees on the grounds... More

The park is big and you forget that your in a city. Take the free tour of the governor's house, it's worth the wait.

We had a wonderful visit. It was relaxing as well as interesting to walk in the garden and to look at the trees planted by royalties and head of states. We then had our private tour by a lovely tour guide who knew a lot about the residence, and the previous occupants, and her enthusiasm was infectious. Spent a lovely... More

Just your typical mall but quite big, a lot of variety. Ottawa is not THE best shopping destination in the area but the Rideau Hall is probably the best place in Ottawa for shopping..!
