Our guide was very knowledgable and informative. We enjoyed our tour and were surprised that it was free. It is also nice to walk around the grounds. Definitely worth a visit. a

Walk the grounds and relax with a picnic. This may be the Gov. General of Canada's residence and grounds, but everyone is welcome to walk the grounds. Just a very lovely place.

It's free & you do have to go thru security like at any airport. The paintings, furnishings & rooms are fit for royalty. You don't get to see the whole building but what you do see is very nice. Liked the British looking guards which you can get a photo taken with. The grounds are huge & there are numerous... More

He made the tour perfect with a blend of history and personal info. The tour takes you through the inner workings of the home and the grounds are immaculate

A must see place for visitors. On a summer morning, this is a lovely place to go to, to escape the city noise, and the more busy tourist attractions. There are guided tours of Rideau Hall, but to walk the grounds under the shade of the magnificent trees is wonderful as well. Little ones can run some "steam off" and... More

We were driving by and decided to stop to take pictures of the exterior. The staff actually encouraged us to come inside as they were just about to close for the day. As we were talking to the member of staff, she asked us to stand clear of the roadway as the Governor was just driving up! We had a... More

We did a self tour of Rideau Hall. There were attendents in every room to give you an overview of the room and to answer any questions you might have. Give yourself plenty of time to explore the house and the grounds. Well worth the trip.

We stumbled across the tour of the Governor's mansion and decided to see what it was all about. This is a grand tour which allows you to see spectacular rooms, and learn some history about Canada. Tours are available in English as well as French.

We ended up at Rideau Hall after a walk around the city and had no idea it was open to the public for tours, and for free! What a pleasant surprise! It wasn't crowded at all and we moved through each room at our own pace. Each room on the self-guided tour has a guide who talks about the history... More
