Interesting. went there with our granddaughters had a great time, lots of info about the airforce and NORAD. Great photos and the girls enjoyed sitting in the cockpit of a plane. Easy to get to, lots of parking, not huge but important part of canadian forces history.

This hidden jewel is so much fun for all age groups, and if you are a history buff then it is a must visit. The time in collecting the items is staggering, the 3-D model of the underground complex is really enlightening. There is so much touching and interactive things it is really fun

I went to the museum with a friend (both adults) and we had a great time. There is no admission charge for this museum but they ask for a donation at the end. I had the most fun jumping in the airplane cockpit at the end. A bit of a tight squeeze. The curator of the museum was off that... More

We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your visit with us! The volunteer that was opening the museum while you were here has personal experience with the history since he is military and works in air defence himself, and he loves passing on his knowledge and stories. We will pass on your kind words to him! More

This museum starts covering air defence when air defence became necessary, in 1914. There are information panels and artifacts regarding WW1 and WW2. There is a lot of material on air defence during the cold war and some surprising artifacts from the Soviet Union. There are many radar type consoles on which one can flip switches. For the airplane enthusiast,... More

We (my wife, 1 year old daughter, a family friend, and I) visited before a lot of the newer articles were added, and still we had a GREAT time! Our favourite part of the museum was the hands-on items like radar and communication equipment to try, imagine, and learn... Put yourself in the shoes of the operators! (Thinking of the... More

Very interesting how much military history is in North Bay displayed in this wonderful museum. Knowing that there is a decommissioned but mainly still operable nuclear bomb shelter just under our feet, just like Cheyenne Mountain in USA is amazing! The wonders of the abilities and efforts of man who prepared to fight and survive a global war is reassuring... More
