I wanted to buy some freestone peaches and some nectarines as I want to make some nectarine chutney and peach and ginger chutney as well as peach jam. I figured the best place to buy the fruit was at the source - so having asked around we went to the Fruit Shack and got the fruit there with some excellent... More

All kinds of healthy food here but the butter tarts are the #1 draw for us (and for many of our friends)! Apparently the lemon tarts are to die for too - but we haven't been able to get past the butter tarts so far! The kettle corn is fantastic too - great to put out bowls at parties.

Traveling around wine country and need a little something to hold off the hungry horrors? You must come HERE. Everything grown without chems or pesticides. Sugar plums, Butter Cakes, cherries, apricots. To die for. Take a peek into the kitchen and you will see the sweet lady that does the baking. Never had a Butter Cake? Me either!! A single... More

We tried the lemon tarts and the butter tarts and would definitely recommend the delectable butter tarts ! The crust was perfectly flaky and the filling was rich and not overly sweet. A must visit on the road to beautiful Niagara-on-the-lake.

This country-style store is now open year round and is actually located in the village of Virgil, district of Niagara-on-the-Lake, along Hwy. 55, over the road from Crossroads school. They sell local farm produce, fresh breads, jams, and delicious baking. Their butter tarts are exceptional and made fresh daily (a great dessert to bring to someone's home or for a... More
