Colaneri is a new family-owned and operated winery that hand-harvests the finest grapes to produce premium VQA award-winning wines from its surrounding vineyards. Most of the wines are made with the traditional Italian appassimento style of drying grapes, including a large portfolio of red, white and dessert wines. A new series has been introduced, made in the “recioto” style of making dessert wines. The winery is built in the Romanesque style featuring a captivating panoramic view of the vineyard and escarpment atop the St. David’s Bench appellation. The wine tasting bar overlooks the production area, allowing visitors to see the process. We, La famiglia Colaneri, are always on hand to share the experience and the passion that went into the making of our wines and our winery.

January of this year we had a couple of friends visit us from Brighton, Ontario and decided to tour a few wineries in the Niagara Region. It was a Monday so on the quiet side. However, I just want to praise the staff at Colaneri Winery. It was an amazing and interesting wine tasting experience. The gentleman shared stories of... More

We've been back to this winery many times. The wine is terrific - some of the best in NOTL and it quickly became our favorite. The family that owns the winery is part of the attraction; they are wonderful, friendly and and very knowledgeable. The labels on their bottles of wine all tell a story. Be sure to ask what... More

We feel that Colaneri's wines are a step above most things we've tasted in Niagara on the Lake or the Finger Lakes. We are now begining to take day trips just to buy their wines. They are not the cheapest wines, but there are definitely not the most expensive in the area. These wines were all rich and wonderful. If... More

This is a stunning building that is still under construction. We were there with a group of eight during the ice-wine festival. We thought we were visiting one of the great castles of Europe. Nice people. It is family owned and the family was front and centre. The production centre is beautiful and clean and visible. When distant guests come... More

My wife and I have been to over 40 wineries in Ontario and every time we go back to this winery and buy the most wine. The wine is the best we have had and find ourselves buying every different wine we can find here. The atmosphere is great and goes perfect with the wine. For the best possible customer... More

This was our last winery stop today and ended up stretching out, as we got chatting with staff and fellow-tasters. The staff were very welcoming despite being quite busy when we arrived. The family and winery history were briefly outlined before our tastings which was really interesting. The wines here were different to others we'd tasted in the region and... More

My wife and I purchased a "wine passport" that allowed us to taste wines at many of the area wineries. Most wineries knew about the passport and treated us nicely. However, Colaneri told us they did not participate in the program. When we showed them their voucher and they acted mad. They gave us a very small tasting and ignored... More

Good Evening Randy, First I would like to thank you for your visit to our winery and our backyard. It is truly unfortunate that you feel this way about your visit. The passport you purchased was for Taste the Season which is organized by The Wineries of Niagara on the Lake association, which we are not a part of. So... More

We stopped in to taste some of the excellent wines we had tried at our daughter's home. The winery is amazing, can't wait until they have finished their final touches to walk around the lower level. The wines we tasted are worth the drive, since they aren't listed in the LCBO. The merlot and shiraz are oustanding.

We have been coming to Colaneri as part of our traditional Thanksgiving wine tour in Niagara since it's humble beginning and we were not disappointed this time. In fact we were pleasantly surprised that they now have an area away from the general tasting room for groups. Christopher handled our reservation and the increase in group size day of. The... More

We visited Colaneri on the recommendation of our B&B hosts, and were so pleased that we did! The tasting experience was great. It was fun, educational, and the owner's son had great stories behind the wine that we tasted. We will absolutely return!
