Owner description: Colaneri is a new family-owned and operated winery that hand-harvests the finest grapes to produce premium VQA award-winning wines from its surrounding vineyards. Most of the wines are made with the traditional Italian appassimento style of drying grapes, including a large portfolio of red, white and dessert wines. A new series has been introduced, made in the “recioto” style of making dessert wines. The winery is built in the Romanesque style featuring a captivating panoramic view of the vineyard and escarpment atop the St. David’s Bench appellation. The wine tasting bar overlooks the production area, allowing visitors to see the process. We, La famiglia Colaneri, are always on hand to share the experience and the passion that went into the making of our wines and our winery.

We stopped in to taste some of the excellent wines we had tried at our daughter's home. The winery is amazing, can't wait until they have finished their final touches to walk around the lower level. The wines we tasted are worth the drive, since they aren't listed in the LCBO. The merlot and shiraz are oustanding.

We have been coming to Colaneri as part of our traditional Thanksgiving wine tour in Niagara since it's humble beginning and we were not disappointed this time. In fact we were pleasantly surprised that they now have an area away from the general tasting room for groups. Christopher handled our reservation and the increase in group size day of. The... More

We visited Colaneri on the recommendation of our B&B hosts, and were so pleased that we did! The tasting experience was great. It was fun, educational, and the owner's son had great stories behind the wine that we tasted. We will absolutely return!

Ask what we bring home from our travels and many will ask what trinkets did you get. Trinkets are for dusting, wine is for enjoying. The Colaneri Estate Winery is a beautiful establishment, with beautiful views and fantastic wines. Please understand that wine is a matter of personal taste and what is fantastic to some may not be so for... More

Took friends from South Carolina on a winery tour and this was our second to last stop. What an amazing building they have here. The Winery is now 4 years old and the building is still far from complete. It looks like a little village in Italy. Inside, the tasting room has windows that look down into the room housing... More

Stopped by on the final day of the local Winefest (fabulous elsewhere and worth the Discovery Pass). We are locals and hadn't planned with a pass as we have lots of food issues and generally can't eat the paired foods. We were optimistic with Colaneri as they were pairing with polenta (one of the few starches we can have). I... More

I traveled with a bus tour group in early September and we had an absolutely wonderful experience. We had very knowledgeable people who explained the different wines and how they were to be tasted. They were extremely good and this was certainly depicted in the numbers that purchased wine following our tour. The structure is absolutely magnificent and the Estate... More

I was impressed by the high quality of the wines, which were delicious. However, while sampling the wines, we were bothered by fruit flies, which distracted from the wine tasting experience. The staff remarked that they were trying their best to reduce their numbers, but to no avail. They stated that the problem was related to the peach harvest, which... More

As impressive as it is from the outside it is inside too! Not the decor inside but the wines - they are amazing! The staff is incredibly friendly and have great wines! In fact every wine we tasted we liked. Year after year this is a great stop, try to have Pam serve you she's great.

This place is like driving up to a castle, very inviting and eye pleasing! Impressive really! Unfortunately not 5 stars at this time because of some mild construction going on right in the front of the building, maybe some fountain work it looked like. Tacky orange fence and all... But... Don't let that deter you from visiting! The wine was... More
