It's great to have such amazing talent just across the border, a short ride away. I have seen several shows over the years (last summer was My Fair Lady) and they are fabulous. More

My wife and I make the two hour trip to this venue at least twice, and often three times a year. We have never seen a bad performance, although a few plays had less than perfect acting. The scenery is very nice as well. If you are very large, avoid the Royal George Theater. The seats pose a challenge to... More

I cannot recommend the Shaw Festival more highly. I am far from a casual theater goer -- I'm a playwright and theater reviewer who has seen on average 100-150 play productions a year around the world over the past 30 years, The Shaw stacks up to any theater company, anywhere. The ensemble is wonderful, the production values are stellar, and... More

First, the good news. Present Laughter @ the Festival Theatre is as good a production as you can expect for Noel Coward's farce. It is funny and clear. See it. French Without Tears and Misalliance @ the Royal George: not ready for prime time. Blame the directors and the casting. French should be a lot funnier in two languages. Not... More

We enjoy theatre and especially the Shaw. We saw A Man and Some Women and we were captivated by the excellent acting, the intensity of the drama. What was especially enjoyable was having the advantage of being seated close to an executive of the Shaw who talked to us during intermission about how Shaw obtained the rights to the play.... More

Once again my friends and I enjoyed our yearly visit to the excellent Shaw Festival in the charming town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our American friends will not find better theatre anywhere--it's truly world-class! They would especially enjoy the wonderful production of "Ragtime", which gives a social and historical snapshot of America in the early 1900s. All the tulips and fruit tree... More

This is a thoroughly enjoyable musical. It's not one that will leave you humming show tunes, but it has a plot and characters that you can really care about. The stage set was extremely creative, adapting to become all sorts of 1900 locations; a bridge, a factory assembly line, a fine homes interior and a Harlem Juke joint. The performers... More

Great lineup for 2012. Got to see "A Man and Some Women" with my girlfriend. Not really a date performance given the content but the close quarters in the tiny courthouse theatre turned it back into a date. Went there on what must have been an industry night because the theatre was packed. Very little leg room in any direction.... More
