went with the school assisting chaprone for the class (gr 4)- kids loved it, lots of history in it, well presented, well preserved

If you have read Mazo de la Roche or watched the Whiteoaks of Jalna series a visit to Benares House is mandatory. I drove by it for years without going in. If you love PBS period dramas (Downton Abbey) or shows like Murdoch Mysteries, you'll love exploring this Museum in the former village of Clarkson. We had a nice visit to the Benares Museum while on our last day in Canada. the tour guide just happened to be from the States (Philly) but it did not hamper his ability to give a good tour and it was clear that he was very much into his job and does it very well. He has a good... More
