The views of the harbor were spectacular! The staff was wonderful and did not mind having their pictures taken with their guests. We saw the reenactment that included actual cannon fire, and we met Douglas their mascot who is a goat.

If you are interested in Canadian history this is a wonderful place to go. We went to the sunset ceremonies (it was a little chilly, so bring layers). It was long for my grandson (7 yo), but he did like it. It was amazing to watch the ceremony of the drill and see the sunset.
We loved our time at the fort. Lunch at the bistro was fantastic. Corey was fantastic (have fun in Dover mate) and the food was excellent for the price. I was raining so there was not alot of people allowing us free reign to wander and appreciate. Our tour guide was fantastic and knowledgable..,,trust me the men in our group...

Re-enactments are very good. Tour guide was very enthusiastic and shared lot of information. View is awesome. There is a bistro with outside seating facing the lake. When we went there was a live band. Museum shop was ok. Overall it was a good trip.
Admission is a little pricey for what it is. The views are spectacular! The staff are wonderful and very informative. We had an excellent day spent at Fort Henry and look forward to doing it again.

If you have interest in military or Canadian history then this is a must do in Kingston. The views are also pretty cool up there and when they do the guards and re-enactments its awesome
The fort was great but with few people around who work there and the discover centre closed, it was not worthwhile visiting until the main tourist season opens around the May 2-4 weekend.
Lots of parking, even for buses or trailers, and a great view. Not much else around that area though. Expect congestion on the causeway to/from the main...

The admission price is a bit pricey to get into Fort Henry, but we did really enjoy our visit there. Be sure to catch the "drill" show they do in the center quad... it was terrific, especially after we learned that these were students just doing this job for the Summer. Also, take advantage of the guided tour. They shared...

An excellent reminder of Canada's British Heritage and the efforts made to protect Upper and Lower Canada from takeover by the Americans. As with the War of 1812, construction and manning of the Fort was a wholly British initiative despite the hype created by Canada's current government.
